We have a Polish dish similar to this, except rice is another ingredient and we don’t fry mince met, but mix it with cooked rice. Once covered in cabage leaf we then cook them in tomato sauce 😁

Love the close ups of fhe leaves 💙

The white cabbage your are referring to is fermented cabbage that has been brined with salt and vinegar for about a week to give it it's white coloring. Also you can use buckwheat or any filling to your liking. For us this is usually a xmas dish on xmas eve supper .

Ahh, so it’s different, because it’s a freshly cooked white cabbage leaves we use. Buckwheat sound like a nice replacement of rice for this dish. I might try it next time, I love buckwheat 😁💙

The vinegar gives it it's sour taste compared to the regular cabbage leaves which is sweet .The cabbage is also frozen a few months before using the leaves.

I don’t like the vinegar 🙈 I’ll stick with the fresh cabbage leaves 😉
