Blessed by a Kind-Hearted Congresswoman: Good Times with Friends, and Rain on My Way Home

Here I am again, giving my time, effort, and money to travel and process things. I’m not sure if it will benefit me, but I have to try.

Two days ago, I traveled to my aunt’s place to settle something, and I planned to stay there until my appointment. If you’re familiar with processing a PRC ID, you’ll know how tedious it can be.

My friends and I were so grateful to learn that Congresswoman Cheding Alvarez sponsored the PRC outreach in Kabankalan. The main goal of the program was to help people process their licenses, renewals, and applications for board examinations. According to her social media post, this was already the third time she held this kind of program.

After fixing things at my aunt’s, I asked my friend if I could crash at her place since it was closer to the venue. We also had the same PRC schedule anyway.

We were supposed to leave early for our 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM slot. But as usual, plans and reality didn’t match. We only managed to leave at 10:00 AM because we had to wait for the jeep. Good thing it arrived faster than we thought.

We made it to the venue just in time. The crowd was huge, and everyone was focused on getting things done.

To be honest, I was taking a risk by going. This PRC outreach was meant for the CHICKS area, and I’m not even from the city where Congresswoman Alvarez serves. But I tried my luck. I paid for my appointment online and had all my requirements ready, so my only worry was whether they’d ask where I’m from.

Thankfully, they didn’t. I know Congresswoman Cheding has a kind heart. Back in college, she would go to our campus to help students. She’s truly been a blessing to so many of us.

With so many people in line, noon came before we knew it. We took the chance to grab some lunch, and we chose AMATELLA.

I was with Mommy Therese, Lady Mae, Kaye, and her brother Khim Jhay. We spent lunch laughing and taking all sorts of funny pictures.

Three of us got sisig, and the siblings ordered something else. I had blue lemonade while Lady Mae ordered cucumber juice. It felt like a "survival lunch" because the servings were huge — we ended up so full. Once we were done, we walked back to the venue even under the scorching heat.

The process was so fast when all your requirements are complete and there are no problems.

Here’s what you need to claim your PRC ID:

1. NOA
2. Valid Government ID- Specimen Signature
   If you don’t have a physical ID, you can use eGovPH to present your digital/electronic ID
3. Proof of Oath Taking
4. Payment Receipt
5. Registration Form
6. Passport size Picture with Complete name

Had to leave my three frenny because it was already getting late.

Kaye ran into a problem with her ID — her National ID had no signature. She tried downloading eGovPH but the signal was terrible. She struggled with it even after we were done.
We waited for her, but it just couldn’t be fixed. When Laylay arrived, I had to say goodbye and head home because it was getting late.

When I arrived at the Ceres Terminal, there were so many passengers waiting. The bus to Bacolod was full, so I got a "standing ovation" ride. Lol.

Finally got a seat at the back of the bus and thank God — it was such an exhausting day. I saw two passengers sleeping so close, probably too tired to care even when the rain started. And it was pouring! Good thing I was prepared with my cap, jacket, and umbrella. Of course girl scout- always ready 😂 Hihihi. I bought fish and eggplant for dinner because I only had a little money left.

When I rode a trike, my jacket wasn’t enough so I got soaked. At least my papers were safe in my bag. Then the trike tipped a little when people got off and I almost had a heart attack.

I concluded that it was really "my day"! Lucky I arrived home safe and sound..
