Short Trip To Baguio City, Philippines

Baguio City - known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines or some called it as the City of Pines. A city located at 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) above sea level. It is part of the Central Cordillera Region in northern Luzon.

The city is known for its cool weather all year round given that the Philippines is a tropical country. The best months to visit Baguio City are between December to February wherein the temperature drops to seventeen degrees Celcius at the highest and nine degrees Celcius at the lowest.

Baguio is also known for its rich heritage, stunning craftsmanship, and vibrant tapestry, shaped by indigenous tribes who call Baguio their home. Baguio offers not just a colorful and vibrant heritage but also flavorsome dishes, and Instagrammable views.

From Metro Manila, we went to Baguio City for a spontaneous reason. Initially, my sister and I planned to go to Tagaytay City for lunch because it was her birthday. Hence, we learned that the traffic jam going to Tagaytay City is very heavy.

We arrived in Baguio City a little past dinner. First, we went to the hotel that my sister booked online left our things and freshened up for dinner. When we were in Baguio we stayed at The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences. Situated one and half kilometers away from Burnham Park which is one of the famous tourist spot in Baguio City.

We booked a cab and went to Canto Bogchi Joint Restaurant. One of the famous restaurants in Baguio City. The time you spend waiting in the queue and the price you pay is all worth it. The food was superb, especially their famous LOMO Ribs and Cascade Salad can be paired with buttery mashed potato or steamed brown rice. While waiting for the food to be served you can also enjoy the chilly breeze of Baguio City air on their Al Fresco dining.

After our superb dinner, we decided to stroll at the Baguio Night Market before going back to the hotel. We bought souvenirs and the famous Strawberry Taho (soft tufo with tapioca pearls and caramelized sugar syrup).

Alongside the Night Market in Baguio, you will find Burnham Park. One of the famous tourist spots in Baguio City because of its century-old artificial lagoon at the center of the park. Burnham Park is famous because it is suitable for family picnics, and a romantic dating spot for either local or international tourists.

After almost 30 minutes to an hour of strolling, we decided to go back to our hotel and call it a day to prepare for another adventure.

Finally, there is a famous saying when people go to Baguio they can never go home again and I felt that. It seems that I left my heart in Baguio. I always wanted to go back and stay there.
