Haha, as Mick said this type of lady bug eat aphids instead of the leaf, actually the beneficial one for the gardener and farmers.
although with the way I photograph it, it does look like it eating on the leaves.
hmmm actually there are some species of the ladybug also that eat the leaf, like the 28spotted potato lady bug, which can be a problem as they eat on the soft part of the leaf.

Lady bugs are fascinating. I see them in spring or summer when they proliferate and fly around in swarms. Thank you for adding the information on their varied diet.
