Carbonara crime & Actifit August 5 2025
You're not supposed to add cream in the sauce for pasta carbonara, in Italy it's considered a "crime". :))) But plenty of people still do it, the cream gives the sauce a different flavour, and both variants taste good and are worth trying.

The italians say that: Adding cream dilutes the sharp, salty flavor of the Pecorino cheese and the intense taste of the cured pork. It creates a heavier, simpler, dairy-forward sauce, which is very different from the light but complex emulsion of egg, cheese, and rendered fat found in traditional carbonara.
It would be interesting to find an Italian restaurant that created this dish without cream over here in the states, I’m sure it’s delicious!🤗😊
