Enjoying a delicious frozen dessert at " African Coffee" - Review Eng-Esp

Hello, fellow foodies. Today I want to share with you my experience at Africana Café. This is a lovely place located in downtown Mérida, very close to Las Heroínas tourist plaza.

Africana Café is one of those places that comforts you not only with its warm atmosphere, but also with its impeccable service. I discovered it recently while looking for ice cream for my son on a cloudy, rainy afternoon, because any time is a good time for a delicious dessert. We walked in, not knowing that it would become our favorite ice cream shop in downtown Mérida.

The place is small and cozy; its design combines wooden furniture with some artificial flower decorations and vintage dessert paintings.

They offer a wide variety of cakes and specialize in Italian desserts. They are available in slices or whole. They also have cookies and different types of pies and tarts. Everything looks delicious. I hope to try one of these desserts sometime.

They also offer tequeños, but not just any kind of tequeños; they are large and come with different fillings, including bacon.

But what really stole our hearts and delighted our taste buds was the ice cream. It's their homemade ice cream, created by them; it has an incredible texture and flavor, better than some well-known brands. Among the flavors I remember are stracciatella, which caught my attention because of its name, and is a mixture that includes fine pieces of chocolate, mint and chocolate, strawberry, strawberry with chocolate, pistachio, black forest, and lemon pie.

I couldn't resist the lemon pie; this dessert is delicious, and I had never tried it in ice cream before, so I chose chocolate ice cream with lemon pie, and my son chose chocolate ice cream with strawberry.

I tried a little of my son's ice cream and you could really taste the strawberry; it was very good. I like it when ice cream really tastes like the flavor you choose and not so much like cream. The texture is so smooth, yet so dense, that every bite is worth it.

The chocolate flavor was delicious too, but I made the right choice with the lemon pay. It was so good, it was like eating a slice of that dessert rather than ice cream. You could taste the cookie, the perfect touch of lemon tartness, and the sweetness of the condensed milk and cream.

This coffee shop captivated us with its ice cream, which is also very reasonably priced. When we return to downtown Mérida for ice cream, Africana Café will surely be our first choice.

Hola, amigos foodies. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi experiencia en Africana Café. Este es un lindo lugar que se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad de Mérida, muy cerca de la plaza turística Las Heroínas.

Africana Café es de esos sitios que te reconfortan no solo con la calidez del lugar, sino gracias a su atención impecable. Lo conocí hace poco en busca de un helado para mi hijo, en una tarde nublada y lluviosa, porque cualquier momento es bueno para un rico postre. Entramos al lugar, sin saber que se convertiría en nuestros helados favoritos del centro de Mérida.

El sitio es pequeño y acogedor; su diseño combina los muebles de madera con algunas decoraciones de flores artificiales y cuadros vintages de postres.

Ofrecen una gran variedad de tortas y se especializan en los postres italianos. Las tienen disponibles en porciones y completas. También tienen galletas y diferentes tipos de pay o tartas. Todo luce delicioso. Espero probar uno de estos postres en algún momento.

También ofrecen tequeños, pero no cualquier tipo de tequeños; son grandes y de diferentes rellenos, incluyendo la tocineta.

Pero lo que nos dio un flechazo a nuestro corazón y nuestro paladar son los helados. Son sus helados artesanales, creados por ellos; tienen una textura y sabor increíble, mejor que algunos helados de renombre. Entre los sabores que recuerdo tienen stracciatella, que ese nombre me llamó mucho la atención, y es una mezcla que incluye trozos finos de chocolate, menta y chocolate, fresa, fresa con chocolate, pistacho, selva negra y pay de limón.

No pude resistirme al pay de limón; este postre es una delicia y en helado nunca lo había probado, así que para mí elegí un helado de chocolate con pay de limón y mi niño eligió un helado de chocolate con fresa.

Probé un poco del helado de mi hijo y de verdad se sentía el sabor a fresa; estaba muy rico, me gusta cuando el helado sabe realmente al sabor que eliges y no tanto a crema. La textura es tan suave, pero tan compacta, que cada porción vale la pena.

El sabor a chocolate estaba buenísimo también, pero no me equivoqué con el pay de limón, qué rico, parecía que estaba comiendo una porción de ese postre y no un helado; se sentía la galleta, el toque de acidez perfecto del limón y la dulzura de la leche condensada y la crema.

Este café nos cautivó con estos helados que además están a muy buen precio. Cuando volvamos al centro de Mérida, por un helado, seguramente Africana Café será nuestra primera opción.
