I Got The Pineapple

This week I won the battle. I got the pineapple. I know for most of you this sounds weird, so what with this pineapple stuff... Well it has been a long "War" between me and neighborhood civets to get the ripened pineapple first.

Two weeks ago I made a post about guarding my pineapple trees. https://ecency.com/@dewabrata/guarding-the-pineapple-again . I had pineapple in my backyard and in my front yard. I let those civets and their cohorts , GATOs, playing with my pineapple tree on my front yard. In another word, I would not get any pineapple from those trees.

I let them go to the frontyard so they do not bug my backyards. Unfortunately only cats buy that idea. Civets won't follow that rule, they still sneak into backyards during night time.

Even I put some repellent, set some wired steel cage to protect the pineapple, still I will lose a few of them. Civets are smart, they come in group and trying their best to break in or dismantled the protective cage.

So every pineapple I harvested, it's a symbol of my victory lol. Most of the time I put those pineapple in the table, which can be seen from outside for a couple of days. Just to show them to those civets out there that I have won lol. They must hate me for this thing.

Anyway this pineapple is a good one. Picked at the perfect timing, and the last few weeks we have not got any heavy rains. They can be ripened any time in the year, regardless which month and which season it will be. However rainy days expecially heavy rains will ruin the taste. During those rainy days, we can get a perfect pineapple too but they will be tasteless.
