Most of nasi padang restaurant do this, serve and display all their ready to serve food on the counter. a traditional style of fast food serving

This is my meal, a set of Ayam Balado with some veggie and side dish

This is my main dish, Ayam Balado, alongside with Potato Fritters

The veggie... well it's just a boiled cassave leaves

Most people like this side dish, fish cracker

This is Sambal (chili sauce), a mix of green chili, onion and tomato. I don't like this style, prefer a regular green chili with a mix of pepper, onion, garlic and green tomato

Hi all, this is my first post using LIKETU, I hope I use this one in the right way. This post is about my regular daily lunch I have during my lunch break at the office, and I would like to share you guys about Ayam Balado, the meal I have chosen as yesterday lunch menu.

Ayam is Chicken in Bahasa Indonesia, and Balado is a Minang/Padang (Western Sumatera, Indonesia) traditional hot and spicy sauce. So this is a Minang Cuisine, however most people are more familiar with the word of Padang instead of Minang. Let's not discuss about Padang and Minang this, it will lead us a long Geography discussion.

Most Indonesian love Minang Cuisine because they are spicy and delicious, and the price mostly are reasonable. You can get them on a fancy and exclusive Padang Restaurant or just a traditional small Nasi Padang outlet. In this opportunity I pick one of the small nasi padang outlet because I don't like spending some budget on a good lunch during my workdays.

The meal I have ordered was a set of Ayam Balado which consisted of : Nasi (Rice), Ayam Baldo (Chicken), Potato Fritters, Cassava Leaves, and a Fish Crackers

This meal has costed me twenty thousands rupiah, or around 1.3 USD. It's a good price for a lunch in Jakarta City.
