Hello, friends especially foodies!
Have you ever gone to a modest but legendary restaurant? If the answer is yes then you have the same experience like me. Recently my aunt and her husband took me out for breakfast in a legendary over decades porridge specialist restaurant. The modest restaurant itself located in Mangga Besar I, where you could find some other places to have porridge or some other restaurants.
When I entered this place i could see their kitchen which was located at the front of the place. And beside porridge they had some fried dishes like croquette and also pastel.
The portion of the porridge there was quite large so you could be like us, ordered 2 portions and eaten by 3 persons. Beside porridge we also ordered their veggie croquettes.
When I first tried their porridge, woah it’s special, it had really nice smell with perfect texture, not too blended, and you could still feel that it made from rice, which you couldn’t find in many places. It also had tasty savory flavour with tasty chicken and sliced fried dough sticksp plus Chinese leaks on the top. Promise you, this one is the best I ever found in my city.
No wonder although the place was modest and without any air conditioners, people still like to come there to have their porridge.
Anyway the croquettes we orderd also tasted so damn great. It only contained carrot inside, but somehow they made it so well, like they used best potato as the main ingredient. The texture were soft and they also served it with tasty peanut chilli sauce :9 so yummy. The croquette itself had savory sweet flavour while the peanut sauce brought fresh tasty peanut chilli spicy flavour to it. Perfect!
