PICKING UP A FEW THINGS IN THE MARKET IN PREPARATION FOR MY KID'S SCHOOL RESUMPTION
Hey lovelies β€οΈ
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese π
Welcome to my blog π€
So, yesterday is the weekly market day where you are expected to get most food items at a slightly cheaper price. But it not always the case nowadays. It is either the prices remain the same or they are even higher. We hope that there would be more food in circulation as the raining season is gradually starting. When there is a lot of food in circulation there will definitely be a reduction in prices of food. However I took some snapshot at home before leaving for the market and im going to be sharing some of my favorite with you all.
Before I started my food shopping, I stopped at a shop at the entrance of the market to get an Oraimo Power Bank that I will be using to charge my phone. Over the course of the last week, there have been an epileptic supply of power in my neighbourhood and it is really affecting every aspect of my life. My phone runs down before you know it, I can't work in the shop with my industrial machine, the food in the fridge and freezer needs to be kept cool using generator (which isn't sustainable due to high cost of fuel).
I got a 20000MAH powerbank that will last me to power my phone at least three times when it is fully charged. With this I'd not have to bother about my phone going off when I need it the most. When I finished from the first stop, I proceeded to a Kiddies shop where I bought a pair of white sneakers for my boy. He'd be resuming school in the next three days, that is, on Monday, after long break. I needed to change the shoe he wears for sports on Wednesdays. After checking about two different shops I was able to get a nice fit for him an more importantly it was within my budget.
Still on the preparation for school resumption, I went to the shop where I'd get biscuits and drinks that he will take to school daily for him. Apart from the meals I cook for him everyday, i also include biscuit and drinks in his lunch box which I like to buy in packs. It is more economical to buy them in bulk than buying one by one acroos the street. I bought a carton of biscuits that has 48 pieces and a drink that has 24 bottles. This will definitely last him for some weeks before we think of buying another one.
My next stop was at the millet and corn store where I bought these grains that will be used to make pap. Pap is an essential in my home as a mother of a little boy. It is a meal that is important in this raining season to get rid of cold as it is best served hot. Also, pap is a fast food that is good for breakfast for the kids. So it is also part of the preparation that im making for my son's school resumption. I like to make my pap using both millet and pap. Some people prefer to use only millet and others like only corn pap. It is absolutely based on choice. I bought two mudu each of the millet and corn.
Finally I stopped by where I bought some beef for the soup I'd be making over the weekend. In this meat section, there are butchers who sell ram, goat and cow meat in any quantity of your choice. So, I bought 1kg of beef which will be enough for the soup that im making next. Afterwards I spotted a woman selling smoked fish acorss the meat section. I bought two sizeable smoked fish from her which will also go into the soup. Then I moved to buying the vegetables that I will be needing for the soup. I bought some ugu leaves which is my go-to leaf when it comes to making soup.
The other things I bought include cassava flakes (garri), cucumbers, apples, carrots, and palm oil.
I had to do the shopping as fast as possible so as to leave the hot afternoon sunny weather before it gets extreme.

I also do my shopping on Fridays as it's the beginning of the week.
The power supply now has moved from epileptic to kwashikor. There will be power supply, but it can't power even your fridge. Storing foods in the fridge is just like try your luck.
That sneakers is the bam, so beautiful.
I'm interested in the Akamu, just waybill some for me when you're done. π
Have a great weekend.

The power supply issue is so annoying. Apart from that the crazy cost of buying electricity token is on the high side as well.
The sneakers are OK and the quality is good to a great extent.
For the akamu, send your location βοΈ.
Ohoo, seems like you got a productive day being out for hours, shopping. Reading about the Power Bank urging to get one myself. But then again i'm thinking I don't really need it - buttttt, I want it π. But it's not needed π₯Ίπ₯Ήπ₯Ή. Anyways, hope you got all what You need in that shopping spree omβ¨π€
Yes, I was able to get the best out of my day. It was quite productive. If your power supply isn't extremely bad you may not be needing it. In my case, my phone battery is not strong. So even if I charge it within one hour or two it will run down. Hence, the need to get the powerbank.
