Back to earth

Hey all. I'm back to earth. Story need to go back to couple of days ago when my sister blow the whistle where mom is having difficulties to talk, and losing strength rapidly.

Low and behold, she was diagnosed with 5th degree stroke. Out of 42, that wasn't so bad right? Wrong. No one wants a stroke. My mom still can't accept the fact that she lose some mobility and capability.

She's still trying to act like normal despite having trouble find her tongue to put at the right place. We're hoping to send her for physio appointment soonest possible to help her gain back strength.

Special thanks to both of my siblings in arranging, asy dad wasn't in good shape either. It will be devastating for us to take care of the both of them at the same time. My sister is a biochemistry scientist, and a very experience pathologist, she has a very good idea on the medical condition. My brother is currently a farmer, after quitting his career from IT business, it's pretty darn tough situation and still he managed to help sorted out most of my dad's needs during this time.

Me? Merely moving stuff in the house, arranging furniture. 1 of the major movement being the beds. We managed to move the single beds to the living room, so the folks no need to climb the stairs.

It's rather taxing rushing in and out of the house sorting things out. After i had left the town for 20 years, I'm even having trouble to find a toilet seat. I have forgotten such small town not many of the entrepreneurs know how to use social media to advertise their product.

I took the family for the easiest way out, McDonald's. Not the most ideal kinda food, but a sure fire way to make sure everyone getting some food in, and I really wanted to ask McDonald's how the hell two chicken wings ended up in my tray 😂 I understand if they don't wanna give me a pair of drumstick, had to mix with a breast or thigh, I'm totally fine with it. But both chicken wings, where are all the breasts, ribs, thighs, and drumsticks gone?

Anyway, I will never complaint restaurants. You just won't know what the kitchen will "fixed" for you.

I also noticed, not only the subway near my house, my office having issue with their bread breaking off in the middle. Often I found myself eating sub like a caveman with whole hand of salad and dressing after the bread got squashed. Even the one at my hometown looks like alien attack.

Sausages being one type of the super process food, and there's research paper on the internet widely available, stating it can cause cancer. I'm the kinda idiot who have very little self control when I see these stuff, especially those with minced mushrooms and cheese infused. These stuff are radical!

Spicy sour glass noodle is also my favourite. I never knew my hometown people can take so spicy, as I ordered a bowl of extra spicy soup, and I added more chilli pepper into it, and this is my instant regret bowl. Anyway, still finished it with butt load of tears and running nose 🤣

The spice was burning my throat and boiling in my stomach even after I finishes the bowl. In the end, had to settle with a big glass of boba milk tea. Does it really help? No not really. I think it's similar to pouring a cup of ice water onto a burning skillet 😂 I don't wanna describe what happen later that day when I visit the throne of underwater symphony.

Ginger onion simmer chicken is one of the exotic village food I grew up with. It reminds me a lot of my younger self when I don't have enough wage to feed myself, this is the dish that helps me get by with broth on pounds of white rice.

The curry noodle near my parent's house is one of the most epic in town. It's now a family business, I used to visit very often when I was young. The old lady who originally started it, I don't see her anymore(please don't remind me if she is still around), now the son is doing just as good job!

I kid you not, see the queue and that's the prove of taste! The black shirt guy behind the stall is the current owner. One man show, you'll have to stand there and wait for your turn to get your food.

I am very happy after a few days of NOT following my diet plan, I'm still holding around that region of bodyweight. I'm sure the weight will come up eventually, but let's kick start again and hopefully I can maintain the weight until end of February.

Sending prayers for your mother to make a full recovery.
It's good news that she pulled through despite there being some issues.
Keep you chin up and stay strong brother.

Totally understandable that right now the diet might falter a little, but don't be hard on yourself. You do an amazing job with everything and possess more strength and willpower than most people.

Thanks buddy. She still refused to accept she lost some of the mobility, and that's what worries us 😅 she will stand up suddenly without assist, as if she didn't have the current condition, and the next thing is she lost control. Hmmm... The "I'm not drunk" mentality.
