My name is Daniel Dauda, and it's such an amazing, wonderful opportunity for me to share with you, some delicacies from a Ren own tribe called the 'yoruba tribe'. I've tested them and oh! My God, you will want to eat that.
Ewedu soup...😋 Yummy
Ewedu soup is a popular Yoruba dish from Nigeria, made with leafy greens and a variety of spices. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make delicious Yoruba-style Ewedu soup
Instructions
- Prepare the Ewedu leaves: Rinse the leaves thoroughly and remove the stems. Tear the leaves into small pieces and set aside.
- Heat oil and sauté onions: In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened.
- Add garlic, ginger, and spices: Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add Locust beans (if using): If using Locust beans, add them to the pot and stir well.
- Add water and bring to a boil: Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add Ewedu leaves: Add the torn Ewedu leaves to the pot and stir well.
- Reduce heat and simmer: Reduce the heat to low and simmer the soup for 20-25 minutes, or until the leaves have softened and the soup has thickened.
- Add Egusi seeds (if using): If using Egusi seeds, add them to the pot and stir well. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the seeds have absorbed some of the liquid and the soup has thickened further.
- Season with salt: Season the soup with salt to taste.
- Serve: Serve the Ewedu soup hot, garnished with chopped onions and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper (if desired).
Abula soup
Abula soup, also known as Obe Abula or Abula stew, is a popular Nigerian dish made with a combination of ingredients. Here's a brief guide on how to make Abula soup:
Instructions
- Cook the beans: Boil the beans until they're tender. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the corn: Boil the corn until it's tender. Drain and set aside.
