Lunch at Boat Lagoon, Phuket 🍣🚤
Hello everyone
It’s been raining almost every day in Phuket lately. But from time to time, the rain stops and the sky clears up for a while. 🌤️ Around noon, my husband and I decided to take advantage of the good weather and head out for lunch at Boat Lagoon, where there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from.
We had one goal in mind — to enjoy some delicious burgers we’d been craving. 🍔 But when we arrived, we found out (to our disappointment 😅) that the burger place had changed its opening hours — instead of 11:00 AM, they now open at 2:00 PM.
So, with a quick change of plans, we remembered a Japanese restaurant nearby that we used to visit quite often. Without hesitation, we headed there instead — sometimes, the unexpected choice turns out just as good! 🍣✨
On the way to the restaurant, we passed right by the yacht marina, where rows of beautiful boats were gently bobbing in the water. 🚤
The scene added such a lovely atmosphere to the afternoon — calm water, elegant yachts, and a wide, open sky above. 🌤️
It’s always nice to take a moment and enjoy this kind of view — even when the original lunch plan didn’t go quite as expected! 😄
My husband and I soon arrived at the Japanese restaurant called "NOZOMI Sushi & Izakaya Boat." 🇯🇵
The place had a warm and welcoming atmosphere — a nice blend of modern and traditional Japanese style. The simple wooden furniture, soft lighting, and little touches of decor made it feel both casual and elegant. 🌸
Since it was still quite early for lunch, there were only a few other customers, and we could choose a nice table by the window. It felt so relaxing — the perfect setting for a quiet meal together. 🥢
Once we were seated, the staff brought over the menu. Not long after we placed our order, they served us a little starter — grilled corn with butter, sprinkled with chili flakes. 🌽✨
This is a small complimentary dish that they serve to every table — a simple, tasty way to start the meal while waiting for the main dishes to arrive. 😊
Before long, the dishes we ordered began to arrive at the table — each one looking more delicious than the last! 😋
First up was the seared mackerel sashimi — perfectly done with just the right amount of smokiness. 🔥
Next came a fun little side — crispy sweet potato fries, served with ketchup and Japanese mayo. A nice mix of textures and flavors! 🍟✨
We also ordered a comforting bowl of udon soup with pork slices, shiitake mushrooms, and vegetables — perfect for a rainy-day lunch. 🍜
For my main dish, I chose the aburi salmon don — lightly torched salmon slices over rice, topped with ikura (salmon roe). The flavor was rich but not too heavy — just the way I like it. 🐟✨
Lastly, we shared a small plate of grilled salmon skin, served with lime. Crispy on the outside and full of flavor — such a nice way to finish the meal. 🍋
By the end of the meal, both of us were happily full and satisfied. The food was fresh, the flavors well-balanced, and the whole experience felt relaxing — just what we needed on a slow afternoon. 🍵
Even though our original plan for burgers didn’t quite work out, this spontaneous visit to Nozomi turned out to be a very good choice. Sometimes, little changes of plan lead to nice surprises! 😊
If you ever visit Boat Lagoon, I definitely recommend taking a stroll around the marina and stopping by for a meal here — especially if you enjoy a quiet atmosphere with tasty Japanese food. 🍣✨
