Turmeric is a wonderful blessing from nature. Turmeric is a great colorant, in fact, it lasts days on the hands as well in some types of kitchen utensils. So why don't we take advantage of that to make food into food look prettier?

Tempeh, which is rich in protein, is also a favorite plant-based food source besides tofu. So this time I will serve fried tempeh with turmeric flavor.

If you don't have fresh turmeric, you can use turmeric powder which is found in many Asian markets.

Turmeric traditionally in my area is a popular spice used to increase appetite, especially in children who have no appetite.

We also often find turmeric in curry seasoning and several other sauces.

So in this recipe, I involve turmeric to make seasoning that is mashed into a paste. So I hope you enjoy my recipe.

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • Celery
  • coriander powder

  • 3 red chilies (optional just for spicy lovers)

Making Coating Flour

After making the turmeric paste for the tempeh flavor, the next step is to make the coating flour for frying the tempeh.

PREPARING TEMPEH

Making tempeh slices, not too thin, not too thick. As much as possible slices with a consistent thickness so that they cook simultaneously when fried later.

FRYING TEMPEH

When the tempeh and batter for coating the tempeh are finished, heat enough oil to deep fry the tempeh using the deep frying method.

Put tempeh in the batter first. Then put in really hot oil. Fry on both sides until golden brown.

SERVING TEMPEH

Use a paper towel to absorb the oil once the tempeh has been removed from the pan.

Then serve while the fried tempeh is still warm, also the oil has been absorbed by the paper towel. Don't forget to include your favorite sauce for a more perfect taste!

It was such an easy recipe to follow and I would love to try this at home, too. I am wondering what's tempeh ingredient because it's my first time encountering it. I'm not sure whether I can find such in the local market here. But it looks so good. Frequently, I used turmeric for chicken curry. Have some !PIZZA

Tempeh is always a favorite of mine! I've never had it quite like this, though, so I'll have to give it a try sometime. :)

It looks so delicious and sounds so healthy @anggreklestari but I am curious about tempeh. It is my first time to read about it. If tofu is made from soya, tempeh is from?

😆I probably should get tempeh to improve my son’s appetite. He eats but can can be picky at times.

😃The turmeric gives the tempeh such a beautiful color. I can imagine having it with some slices of avocado. I’ve never had tempeh though.
