Chives From Regrowing and Mixed With Cauliflowers

It is always a pleasure to be able to harvest vegetables from our personal space even if only those that come from regrowing.
Then, make a yummy meal!

Some glasses containing regrowing chives look like messy hair. Oh, they need pruning! Pruning means harvest!

Well, I've bought chives at the traditional market before. Also, I have posted the results of that dish on HIVE. There are a lot of bulbs that I don't use for cooking.

I feel bad if I have to throw the bulb away. So I decided to put them in two glasses for regrowing. I didn't expect much because usually, I'm bad at regrowing. Why? Because my place is very bad in the management of sunlight for plants. Often the regrowing plants in the glass become rotten.

After being hopeless, I was quite amazed also day by day the bulbs regenerated chives. Looks lush.

It turned out that the things I did not expect actually gave me a good surprise. I'm quite happy about that. At least this time I succeeded in regrowing small veggies.

HARVESTING TIME

So I cut the chives with scissors. precision is needed so I don't cut them too short. if it's too short, I don't think they will grow well again next time.

Slowly, then disassemble the bulb to make several more pieces so that they become a lot. They look cramped in the glass.

Initially, I only had two-bulb glasses. Now I have 3 three-bulb glasses. They look even better because I've trimmed them.

Although the harvest result of regrowing chives is not much, I am quite satisfied because I have ingredients to vary from other vegetables. So this time I'm going to mix chives with cauliflower, seasoned with tomato flavor.

THE INGREDIENTS

538ADFD1-765B-4DDA-B333-4F6468A3E5C3.jpeg

  • one cauliflower
  • Chives
  • 2 tomatoes, slices
  • Onion and garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the cooking oil. Then add onion and garlic until it smells good.

Adding chilies for optional things. You can skip this one for sure. Keep stirring to avoid them getting burnt.

Adding slices of tomatoes. Don't forget to add turmeric powder, salt, and pepper.

While stirring them, I press down on the tomatoes so that the slices of tomatoes get a smooth, sauce-like texture.

Add a little water so they don't get sticky and burn. But you can skip this one if the tomatoes you use already contain a lot of water.

If you get a sauce-like texture, then add cauliflowers. Stir well and cook until it reaches the desired level of doneness. for me, it took five minutes.

Just before lifting, add chives. Stir for a while, then lift them up.

I serve a dish that is crunchy in texture with sesame seeds (my fav one). And I serve this with rice for lunch. I love it!

No carbs, no problem! I eat them like snacks too. Picked a few pieces of cauliflowers at once and put them in my mouth. Quite simple, upps attitude that is not exemplary, unless you are the chef, I'm kidding. eheehe. so, did you wanna try this one? what are your fav veggies for regrowing at your home?

Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.

All pictures were taken using iPhone 11.

Wow! That's look delicious and well prepared and presented.
I think it's too spicy with those chillies you added. 😀

You can reduce the amount of Chilli or feel free to skip them for sure. They not change the taste :)

Glad if you like this one. If you have chives, you can just stir fry cauliflowers :)

Delicious preparation and the best within reach of your garden. I confess that I have planted chives and cilantro several times without success. The cherry tomatoes and chiles grow very well.
I would eat that sofrito that you present with an arepa and a vegan cheese....

It would be good if they could cultivate even the small space they have. That is what should be done. Great relief then. I have also cultivated everything possible. But cauliflower is very difficult to grow in my area. But even if it is in the market, it is sold at a high price. Cauliflower likes every dish equally.
