August has always been one of my favourite months, and why not if it's my birthday month. Although I've never been one for a big celebration, I always try to have a good time, so during the whole month I dedicate myself to making and eating things that I like, I think that one month a year it's valid to treat yourself in that way. However, things don't always work out the way we want them to and this year my month got caught up in a lot of situations that made it really suck.

Honestly, I was undecided whether to do this recap because I feel like there is nothing good to tell about August, but that's not completely true, despite having a lot of bad days, there were also good flashes and moments that made me forget a bit about all the mess that was going on around me. So I decided to do it and focus only on those moments that brought me a little ray of sunshine in the rain.

This month I attended two cultural events that filled my days with colour and laughter, both were invitations to other very important events in my city that will be held in September, as well as going to a new viewpoint that has just been inaugurated a few minutes away from my house. I also accompanied my son to the party of one of his pre-school friends, it was a truly magical moment that I enjoyed very much. Attending them was a challenge, but it was definitely worth it because they were an oasis in the midst of so much chaos.

And of course, there was my birthday, which, although it wasn't quite what I thought it would be, I still managed to enjoy it very much. I ate very well, as you can see in the pictures, and not only on that day. I had the pleasure of eating many things that I love, so I can't really complain about my celebration, because even though it was simple, I did what I love the most, eating tasty food, hahahaha.

August also marked the beginning of the school year, so during the last few weeks I had the intense task of preparing all of Leo's school supplies, because here in Mexico they ask for everything to be marked with his name and with specific colours. It was a bit stressful work, because I hate handicrafts, but it was worth it because it meant that the school holidays were FINALLY over and that I would have some peace and quiet at home again, at least in the mornings.

I hope that September will be a much better month, less eventful and sad than my August, although honestly, as long as it doesn't shake I'm well served.

Entre Días Grises y Pequeñas Alegrías | Mi Mes en Fotos

Agosto siempre ha sido uno de mis meses favoritos, y cómo no si es el mes de mi cumpleaños. Aunque nunca he sido de hacer un festejo muy grande, siempre procuro pasarla bien, así que durante todo el mes me dedico a hacer y a comer cosas que me gusten, creo que un mes al año es válido darse el gusto de consentirse de esa manera. Sin embargo, las cosas no siempre salen como queremos y este año el mi mes se vio envuelto en un montón de situaciones que hicieron de él una verdadera porquería.

Honestamente, estaba indecisa sobre si hacer este recuento porque siento que no hay nada bueno que contar sobre agosto, pero eso no es completamente cierto, a pesar de tener muchos días malos, también hubo destellos buenos y momentos que me hicieron olvidar un poco todo el desastre que estaba pasando a mi alrededor. Así que decidí hacerlo y enfocarme solamente en esos momentos que me trajeron un rayito de sol dentro de tanta lluvia.

Este mes asistí a dos eventos culturales que llenaron mis días de colorido y de risas, ambos fueron convites (invitaciones) para otros eventos muy importantes en mi ciudad que se celebrarán el mes de septiembre, además de ir a un nuevo mirador que acaban de inaugurar a unos minutos de mi casa. También acompañé a mi hijo a la fiesta de uno de sus amiguitos de preescolar, fue un momento verdaderamente mágico y que disfruté muchísimo. Asistir a ellos fue un reto, pero sin duda valió la pena porque fueron un oasis dentro de tanto caos.

Y por supuesto, está mi cumpleaños, que aunque no fue como yo pensaba que sería, igual lo logré disfrutar mucho. Comí muy rico, como pueden ver en las imágenes y no solamente ese día. Tuve el gusto de comer muchas cosas que me encantan, así que en realidad no me puedo quejar de mi festejo, ya que a pesar de ser sencillo, hice lo que más me gusta, comer sabroso, jajajaja.

Agosto también marcó el inicio del ciclo escolar, así que durante las últimas semanas tuve la intensa labor de preparar todos los útiles escolares de Leo, porque aquí en México piden que todo vaya marcado con su nombre y con colores específicos. Fue un trabajo algo estresante, porque detesto las manualidades, pero valió la pena porque eso significó que POR FIN terminarían las vacaciones escolares y que yo tendría nuevamente algo de tranquilidad en casa, por lo menos durante las mañanas.

Espero que septiembre sea un mes mucho mejor, menos acontecido y triste que mi agosto, aunque honestamente con que no tiemble me doy por bien servida.
