Food Adventures in Kampung Baru: Exploring Flavors and Scenic Views

The bustling streets of downtown Kampung Baru greeted us with a harmonious blend of cars and kapcai motorcycles, accompanied by the vibrant hum of countless conversations. The electric atmosphere immediately ignited my senses as I embarked on a day filled with exploration. Navigating through the bustling crowds and winding streets, we surrendered to the temptation of the local delicacy, satay. The sizzling skewers of marinated meat unleashed a burst of flavors that danced upon our taste buds.

Although our original mission was to find the renowned cendol durian, destiny had other plans. Instead, we stumbled upon the alluring scent of cendol tampai, a delightful variation of the classic dessert. This creamy, pandan-infused delight, generously adorned with gula Melaka and a mountain of shaved ice, provided a refreshing respite from the sweltering heat.

As the sun began its descent, we bid farewell to downtown Kampung Baru and embarked on a journey to Ampang Hillside. Standing atop the hill, I was mesmerized by the enchanting sight of Kuala Lumpur's night skyline. Regrettably, due to post-pandemic regulations by the local council, the beloved food vendors were no longer allowed to operate near the hillside.
