Visiting the London Eye

Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome every reader to my post and hope you have a great week so far! Today I decided to share something about my trip in London and hope you like my post.

For me the visit was more unplanned because actually I first wanted to look at the parliament as well as Westminster Abbey and because this was not possible on that day, I decided to visit the London eye which is on the way. From the outside I found the wheel already very interesting which is also known under the name Millennium Wheel and was built about 25 years ago and although it's a new sight in comparison to the others, it's known worldwide. The London Eye was created by three architects to ensure a breathtaking view over London plus the entire area and during clear weather conditions, it is possible to look over 40 kilometres into the distance and in London it's one of the best viewpoints. Again and again the London eye has become a spectacle of the public and many well-known festivities were celebrated here and also for photographers or filmmakers it is an absolute highlight. Unlike normal Ferris wheels, hundreds of people can be transported here and over 20 people can fit in a singe capsule who can look forward to a ride of almost half an hour and during the ride visitors have a view of the whole city as well as the most important sights of the city.

It was not always built for eternity and at the beginning it was only supposed to serve as an attraction for the Millennium Festival, but the feedback was so good that it was decided to leave it and interesting to mention is also that the wheel lights up at night. Which color the London eye adopts depends entirely on the time because on certain holidays it's adjusted to create the right mood. In London it is even considered the most visited attraction, but everyone has to decide for themselves whether the visit is worth it because the prices are really high which is why I can imagine that it scare off one or the other. A normal ticket costs almost £40, but there is also the possibility to purchase a Fast Track Ticket which has the advantage of getting into the capsule faster, which costs over £50 and if you want to save money, you can simply book online.

I liked the experience very much, but I found the prices a bit exaggerated for a single ride with the Ferris wheel, but the view of the city and the surroundings was breathtaking in every respect and also for taking pictures it is the perfect place. In the past it was even the largest wheel in the world which was later overtaken by China and in addition to the records, the London Eye is also interesting from a symbolic point of view and is also considered the guardian of the city or also referred to as a kind of all-seeing eye. It is also a sign for the strength of London and as I have noticed, the inhabitants are also very proud of this architecture, which took a total of 7 years to build and linked various aspects with each other. For anyone who should be in the city, it can definitely be worthwhile to visit London eye and it is in any case an interesting attraction.

Loved reading this! The London Eye really is one of those spots that never loses its charm. The views are amazing, even if the tickets are a bit pricey definitely one of those (at least once) experiences in London.

True :) London in general is a very expensive city which is partly also noticeable in the sights :)

It's definitely one of the landmarks that'll always look modern and symbolic to London in the future

I didn't know of the London eye before your post. It makes sense to keep it forever but the price is indeed quite high if it doesn't include a guide or something

I personally never have ridden on it, but it looks impressive! I bet it has quite a view from up there, but I've only seen that from the movies. I always had more interesting venues to check out while I was there. Great pictures though! It does sound a little expensive, but it is a form of entertainment and I'm sure it wasn't inexpensive to build!

It has definitely developed into one of the most important things of the city :) I couldn’t believe it myself at first when I was at the ticket machine and find the price exaggerated to be honest but it’s one thing I still didn’t wanted to miss!
