When I was in Holland and spent a few days in the capital Amsterdam, it was clear to me to visit the Paleis op de Dam, which is one of the most important sights of the country and is located in the middle of the centre of the city. It's the royal palace which was already built in the 17th century but however, it was initially planned that it would become the town hall of the city and only a few centuries later it was transformed into a palace by Napoleon's brother. The original architect is Jacob van Campen who used sandstone for the construction and here it's important to mention that this material had changed the appearance in the course and even if it was even brighter at the beginning, it now looks much darker. The palace is one of the most important buildings of the country which was built in the style of classicism and even if the palace visitable it's still used for official purposes and here state visits or other festivities take place from time to time and the king of the country Willem-Alexander can also be seen here from time to time.

If there are no events taking place, the palace can be visited during the day pretty much all week and the admission cost about 14€ which was a fair price for everything on offer. A great characteristic is the variety and both the impressive architecture and the magnificent furnishings inside the palace are absolutely worth a visit and here some statues, works of art and other magnificent objects can be admired. In the city it's one of the most popular places and not only visitors come here, but also often locals who visit festivities like small concerts here and one day I noticed how a performance had just taken place in front of the palace and some locals gathered. Many of the artworks have also an important symbolic meaning and are from the golden age and also the whole building was to be built to express the power of the Netherlands during this time. I can only recommend to every visitor of the city to visit the palace and it should not be neglected to visit the interior and the time which should be planned is about two to three hours and at the entrance can also be taken an audio guide which explains the history completely.

the style is indeed classic, looks like a lot greece-roman, is it all like that or you just photographed what you liked more?

Yes, there are many different influences to see which also have a symbolic value such as influences from Greek mythology.
