Back from traveling

I've been MIA on Hive for quite a long time cos we've been traveling for the past few weeks. @acidyo and I went to Thailand for a short long vacation, walking and BTS-ing around the busy city of Bangkok.

We have already visited Bangkok before (a year ago)- on the same month and about the same length of stay as well. Last year the city was not as busy as they are now cos even though they just opened their borders at that time, it was also still covid time. Masks were mandatory during those times (in some places) and there were a lot of requirements to go in and out of the country. Today, you can freely visit without quarantine, covid tests or some shit cos they are pretty relaxed now.

DSCF1365.jpg

It was easier to roam around Bangkok when you've visited there before. Even more when you learned how to use their BTS sky train. Since there are more tourists now, traffic got worse than when we visited last year so learning how to use the train is a must to save some time.

We went to some places that we visited before and some that are new to us as well. We can really see how different it was from last year and how there's a lot of tourists this time. In Siam and some areas near Khaosan, the area is pretty packed. Despite the very busy city and heavy car and foot traffic, we didn't feel that overwhelmed since people pretty much come and go in most areas. I guess the country is already prepared for that, tourism is their main thing after all.

Speaking of tourists, I bet there were a lot of them who went there just to smoke weed lol. Weed became legal a year ago, both for recreational and medical use. So that was really nice. We went there to smoke weed of course, to try and see how it affects me and if it helps with my PTSD which became quite hard to manage the past few years.

IMG_9193.jpg

The weed cafes and dispensaries are everywhere especially in the city center.

DSCF2646.jpg

I can say we saved a lot of money avoiding taxi and tuktuk scams. It's fucked up they do this still, thankfully there are hailing apps to avoid those. Also the set of clothes I brought with me were mostly oversized shirts and baggy pants so walking and sweating is not uncomfortable to do especially in Bangkok summer heat.

We're back in the Philippines now so I will post a lot of pics in the next few days but I have to sort them out first. xD

Welcome back.. It's surprising to know that a Filipino traveled with someone from Hive ☺️.. I guess I know the story behind hehe.

Anyway, have you tried eating Thai foods with weeds? I wonder how it tastes or if it will make one high 😅..

Yeah we met on Hive and became lovers lol.

Hmm, I always wanted to try the CBD ice cream before haha but it doesn't have the THC which is a ingredient to make you high. I did try the gummies tho, it nade me high but I didn't like the taste 🤣 I guess it's better this way cos if I like the taste I might eat a lot hahah

Ohooo, you really take your sweet time to enjoy Bangkok ┌|o^▽^o|┘♪. If there's no requirement or whatsoever when it comes to covid chenes, the travel will be smooth, and thats cool. Wish I can visit that place sometimes ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

You only have to show your passport to the Thai immigration, nothing else. It's the PH immigration who will have requirements for you instead. haha.

Pretty sure you can someday! There's a lot of flight sales going on and Thailand is cheap (even cheaper than Philippines in some cases). :D

The photos look very nice. I'm so glad you enjoyed a long vacation, now it's time to share adventures.

I thought taxi scams were mostly in Turkey haha. It seems there is this problem in many parts of the world.

Lol yeah they exist everywhere I guess. But I would expect they would only do that in the touristy areas. Once they knew you're a tourist they will just refuse to use the meter and they name their own price. So annoying

Then you have to act like a local. Don't make him feel it haha.

I like the way in China, Japan, Korea & generally most of Asia they have a lot of Motorways in the cities crossing up & over each other.

It sounds like you had a great time in Bangkok! I'm glad that you were able to experience the city's unique culture and see some of the amazing things that it has to offer.

I'm also glad that you were able to find some relief from your PTSD with weed. I know that it can be a very difficult condition to deal with, and I'm glad that you found something that helps.

I'm sure you'll have some great photos to share with us when you get a chance to sort them out. I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Yeah it was really fun!
The weed didn’t help much tbh lol. Maybe I just wasn’t high enough or not often enough to get used to it but everytime I do my heart beats fast and it gets hard to breathe and I can’t focus on anything. So I can’t chill nor do something else 🤣 I will write about it in the next few days for a more detailed experience

I can Really understand you!! i call that stage of the trip "SPEED" hahaha that part is good to do things like walking in a park, dancing etc, "do things" not chill out.... the chill out stage comes after that.... But what you say is true, if you are not used to it, it can feel bad but it eventually passes and you start to feel the relax part

Ahh I guess it’s what it is. We usually did them when we are at a hotel at night and I guess I’m too sleepy for that so the combination of sleepy + fast heartbeat isn’t great.🤣

Ahhh yeah there's a lot of food stalls outside and there's even night markets too. It's crazy how these malls are beside each other haha.

Hey @hiddenblade Bangkok pics looks nice. We use a lot the boats to shortcut traffic.

I'm so close to the Philippines I never ever was before. I am hanging out right now close to Manado in Sulawesi. Diving is a paradise in this clear water.

I’ve seen a lot of boats in the smaller rivers indeed! But never got a chance, didn’t know how to use them and we usually just hang out in the areas closest to Ratchathewi and BTS hahaha.

Damn I could imagine! Those areas in the south Philippines close to Indonesia I heard are really good. Enjoy the corals out there :D
