It began to be erected in 1226 with Gobertange stone and its construction was completed in 1500.
It was a great place of pilgrimage since it was a meeting point between the two most important routes in the North of the old continent, from Flanders to Cologne and from Antwerp to Mons.

What impressed me the most, apart from the large dimensions, were the stained glass windows, true works of art on a par with Notre Dame in Paris or Reims Cathedral. As a curiosity to say that it did not become a cathedral until 1962, to date it was considered a collegiate church.
