WYDARZENIE. Między literaturą a teatrem. Jak zamienić książkę w spektakl?

W sobotę, 29 listopada, odbędzie się w Królestwie spotkanie z reżyserem-pasjonatem Konradem Jaworeckim CM, który w teatrze amatorskim wystawił m.in. "Wesele" Wyspiańskiego i "Zanim wystygnie kawa" Toshikazu Kawaguchiego. Aktualnie pracuje nad spektaklem opartym na kryminale Agaty Christie. Rozpoczęcie o godzinie 16.00.

Zastanawialiście się kiedyś, co może się kryć w głowie reżysera? Jak przekształcić książkę w spektakl?
Czym różni się to, co czytamy, od tego, co widzimy lub chcielibyśmy zobaczyć?
Gdzie kończy się praca autora tekstu, a zaczyna praca reżysera?

Podczas spotkanie porozmawiamy o tym, jak to jest przeczytać książkę, a potem stworzyć na jej podstawie spektakl. Zastanowimy się, czy tekst dramatu to przykład literatury, czy raczej tekst roboczy, który pełnoprawnym dziełem staje się dopiero w momencie wystawienia. Wspomnimy o blaskach i cieniach pracy na próbach i w reżyserce; o kulisach pracy w teatrze amatorskim.

Spotkanie poprowadzi dr Katarzyna Biela, badaczka literatury i teatru z Instytutu Filologii Angielskiej UJ, prywatnie aktorka oraz operatorka światła i dźwięku w teatrze Jaworeckiego. To będzie przyjacielska rozmowa o granicach w mediach i o ich przekraczaniu. Przewidziane jest również Q&A.

On Saturday, November 29, a meeting with director and enthusiast Konrad Jaworecki CM will take place in the Kingdom. In amateur theatre, he has staged, among others, "The Wedding" by Stanisław Wyspiański and "Before the Coffee Gets Cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. He is currently working on a performance based on an Agatha Christie crime novel. Starts at 4 p.m.

Have you ever wondered what might be going on in a director’s mind?
How do you transform a book into a stage performance?
What is the difference between what we read and what we see — or would like to see?
Where does the author’s work end and the director’s work begin?

During the meeting, we will talk about what it is like to read a book and then create a performance based on it. We will consider whether a drama text is an example of literature, or rather a working text that becomes a fully-fledged work only when it is staged. We will also touch on the ups and downs of rehearsal and directing work, and on behind-the-scenes aspects of working in amateur theatre.

The meeting will be hosted by Dr Katarzyna Biela, a researcher of literature and theatre at the Institute of English Studies, Jagiellonian University, and privately an actress and a lighting and sound operator in Jaworecki’s theatre. This will be a friendly conversation about the boundaries between media and the crossing of those boundaries. A Q&A session is also planned.
