#1127 - Sunflowers One Morning at Diliman Quezon City for Monday.

Now for our daily shots, it was around seven in the morning when my wife and I finished our routine jog around the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman one Sunday morning. We are regular here, enjoying the wide trees avenue that the campus has. We had completed our usual loop, almost 10kilometers and we approached the front of the iconic Oblation statue.

When we pass this spot running, we just keep glancing at the surroundings flowers. The garden right in front of the Oblation was full of yellow color. The sunflowers were in bloom and were impossible to ignore. Since we were done jogging and catching our breath, we thought it would be the best opportunity to capture some memories as souvenirs of this lovely day.

The sunflowers blooming stood tall and proud like reaching out to catch the early sunrise. They were huge with thick stalks and huge centers that seemed to attract the bees buzzing with activity. There were honeybees everywhere moving from one flower to another. They were here collecting pollen. It was fascinating to watch them work, their tiny legs filled with yellow nectars as they dig deep into the blossoms.

My wife and I spent a good amount of time just admiring this scene. It’s not often you see such a nice display of nature in a busy city.

We took a few photos, smiling and feeling the fresh morning air. It was a simple moment but it's special and truly was a good start to our morning, also reminding us to pause and enjoy the little things.
