Takeoff Picture Sequence with a Paramotor 📷
People always ask how I take off with that thing and these pics show a bit of the sequence. With wing on the glider behind you, you can pull it up into the air.
Once its overhead, you can start giving the engine throttle, lean your body back and let the motor push you while you just keep running your feet as it speeds you up.
At take off speed, you will simply launch into the air. Engine thrust determines how quick you climb as you are basically a pendulum under a wing.
Now lets fly!
Another Launch Sequence
Pull the wing up from behind, facing into the wind
Pull until its overhead
Once it up above you, lead back to straighten up the motor and apply throttle so it pushes you forward
Run until you have enough speed for liftoff!
Usually about 15 steps to launch with the right technique.
I'm so anxious to get my ppg cert. I have to do my tow and I'll have my P2 and I am hoping to get my ppg on the same day. Then the hard part of saving up enough for the motor.
Hey @flemingfarm, that's awesome! You don't need any license or cert for PPG in US, you are lucky. In canada we have to have an ultraligth pilot license, so a lot more training required to get that, but still worth it.
My PG instructor teaches PPG as well but most of the work is on the P2 then after I think 5 flights with the motor he will sign off on us. Crazy you need ullralight license. We have 3 pages of FAA rules governing us which are super tame.
Nice and ya a lot easier for you there without the license. The one good thing is that people who do it here are pretty committed since it takes so much time to get licenses, so you don't get as many one timers or people coming in with NO knowledge and wrecking LZs or pissing people off as well. Fewer people as well though.
Yeah that is one of the nice things about USHPA certifying LSs and LZs for PG here is we have some sort of governance to help keep the sites open for us all. Saturday I am going to get site intros for my local LSs and can't wait to get my wing so I can fly them.

It is so worth it and you should try it. Find someone who could take you up on a tendem ride to experience with them first! You'll love it.
