The Last Bike Standing

It's been a while since I last rode one of these rental bicycles. They used to be a very popular service many years ago, but there were issues with how users handled them. Nowadays, I see fewer rental bicycles on the streets. Perhaps not many people use the service anymore, since owning a bicycle isn’t particularly expensive. While there are high-end models, most bikes are quite affordable, making it easy for many people to own one.

On my way home, I noticed a single bicycle left at the designated parking spot, which caught my interest and inspired me to take some photos. I think a lone bicycle makes for a better subject than a group of them, as it allows the viewer to focus on just one point of interest.

To create a cleaner composition, I used a smaller aperture to blur the background. The result was a nicely blurred backdrop with some pleasing bokeh effects.

Capturing this solitary bicycle reminded me of how quickly things change over time. What was once a bustling service is now a quiet remnant of the past. Still, there's a quiet beauty in simplicity—and sometimes, that's all you need to tell a story.

In the past, this was found everywhere and even bikes thrown into canals. Now I guess with the regulations, hope things will remain in control.
