Small Athena Sculpture

Hey dear Hive community, first of all I hope as always you are doing well and you had a nice day with positive experiences! As already mentioned in the title, I would like to present you a small but wonderful work of art.

Matching this work of art, this small statue of the Greek goddess Athena, which I bought online, also came from Greece. Since I have been learning about various mythology for a longer time, something like this is a real pleasure for me and in general I am enthusiastic and interested in different kind of art.

Athena is one of the 12 Goddesses and Gods of Olympus and she is considered the goddess of art, wisdom, strategy and war. The small statue was made of alabaster and was decorated very authentically with the symbolism. She is symbolized with her helmet, spear and shield which, by the way, was made by the god of the blacksmiths, Hephaestus. The shield also bears the name Aigis and is decorated with a medusa in the middle.

A snake can also be seen on the left side and also in the helmet, the snake is by the way symbolically very well known and is considered a symbol of wisdom and also in medicine and occultism this symbolism is often found. On the shoulder of Atehna you can also see an owl sitting which is also a typical sign of wisdom, often all these symbols are also symbolized on ancient vases, which I think is a real eye-catcher.

Back to Athena, she is also considered the protective goddess of the Greek city Athen and associated with the name. Mythology is often connected and in Roman mythology it is the goddess Minerva who is equated with her. I think this artwork has been made in great detail and is a real eye-catcher, I really like something like that and it makes me really happy!
