Monochrome photo for every day my personal photo challenge - 01/11/2024 - Issue - No.122+ a modest competition for everyone who wants to share a monochrome photograph.

Some time ago I came across a short video called “Pawn Shop Stars” that caught my attention.

I like to see the depth of knowledge of the employees of a pawn shop in Vegas where they bring in antique, prized items for buying among which you can often see old monochrome photographs, the price of which can reach many thousand dollars.

As a rule experts are invited to evaluate many things including photographic experts who must make a verdict regarding the value of the photograph and its originality.

Often they see a fake or a photograph that is very similar to the real thing but is not like a photograph supposedly of a married couple Abraham Lincoln and his wife.

Lol the woman's eyebrows and Lincoln's wife's eyebrows were directed in different directions therefore the photograph was not considered original or a photograph that belonged to the family of the former President of the United States of America.

I am frankly sorry for the people who were deceived and invested their money in a fake in the hope of making a profit in the future.

Some time ago I became interested in photo collages which in their essence are something that cannot be called a photograph, because they are many photographs that are connected together.

Like a picture this is a fake, but I am not looking for profit from the sale but I am looking for my mood which should be reflected in this photographic work and I construct it at my own discretion without the desire to deceive anyone using the necessary parts of other photographs.

I like this work and working with monochrome photographs is no less exciting than working with color photographs.

Monochrome works it seems to me, are better able to convey the feeling of anxiety chaos in thoughts due to the difficult situation around joy and sadness and much more.

This is reminiscent of silent films from the beginning of the last century which in its essence is not reality but only its fake.
