Tatra Mountains - Spring 2025 #2 - Sunset Time!

Hi Guys!

Tatra Mountains on Polish side are high but not large - the whole mountain range has only 57 km in a straight line.

From a good viewpoint, with good visibility, we can see them whole!
Such panoramic views are one of the most spectacular views in whole Poland!

High, rocky mountains are growing straight up creating a natural wall.
One of my plans was to go to one of such viewpoint during sunset time to capture the mountains in warm light.

Because I didn't know any good locations for such photos I had to search for them in the internet - luckily there is a lot of information in different blogs and travel sides.

I chose the closest point located in Gliczarow Gorny (Gliczarów Górny).
Small parking place is located just by the road - we can see the views straight from the car but it is worth to go up on the meadows or down, below the main road...

First phase of the sunset was very mild, delicate, sublime...
Hazy air captured some of the warm tones and lighten up the villages in the valley.
There was still a lot of clouds on the sky which prevent the light to reach the high mountains...

I decided to capture a large panoramic shots of the view as well as close up shots of different details in the landscape.

Later in the evening the light began to change - got more red and violet tones.
In this moment some of the light rays reached the mountains in the front lighten them up.

Here on the shot - one of the most famous peak - Giewont - in a deep red light of setting sun...

The whole landscape lokked more vibrant now, nice blue tones were contrasting with springtime nature and orange light.

I decided to shoot more panoramic shots as this is the only way to capture the whole landscape at once.

Using my tele lens 70-300mm I took a multiple series of shots which I used later in post production to stich these images...

That day the clouds in a far eastern horizon stopped the light just before the final phase of the sunset so such magical light lasted only 10-15 minutes...

It was a great evening - I am happy that I found such a great viewpoint and had such interesting light conditions.

I will re-visit this spot later during my trip - but this I will show You in the future :).
