Swiss mountain pine (Pinus mugo)
Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I hope that you are all doing well and that you had a day full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to bring a part of nature a little closer and hope you can learn something new.
Here you can see a mountain pine which is also known under the scientific name Pinus mugo and originally comes from the mountain regions in Central and South Europe. It is an extremely to easy-care tree which is considered very resistant to pests and is also very good for the climate and the needles of the Swiss mountain pine are able to filter pollutants from the air and are therefore a good option against environmental pollution and in mountain regions it is particularly important and it can help against erosion and the danger of avalanches. You can simply spread it via seeds which can be interesting from an ecological point of view and are an important source of food for birds and it also offers space as a shelter for birds or other animal species such as birds. It is optimal if it is planted in a sunny or semi-shaded location and it is also well suited as a hedge plant and is also suitable for locations where there is not so much space due to the compact growth and in winter there is not much to consider and it is extremely resistant to frost.
From October, the brown cones appear which can become about 6 cm long and there are female and male trees that can be characteristically distinguished from each other and also as a medical point of view it can have advantages. In the mythology of different cultures, it was usually revered as a magical plant and from a symbolic point of view it was often associated with friendship, happiness or perseverance. Swiss mountain pines are rich in ingredients such as essential oils, which have been used for the extraction of aromatic substances for a long time due to the terpenes and the vitamins, minerals or flavonoids contained also make it extremely interesting from a medical point of view. It is particularly appreciated because of its antioxidant properties and it has a good effect against pathogens, but as always, it is of course important to mention that in case of illness you always have to consult your doctor or pharmacist after the correct use as well as possible side effects in order to avoid complications!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
Interesting and pretty cool. Nice photography skill.
Many thanks
All plant helps in environmental pollution but some helps than others. Those plant that helps than others should be given more consideration because of the increase in our ozone layer.
That’s true, especially in larger cities, planting could be very useful :)
