Schulenbergite Mineral

Good day dear Hive community, as always I hope that you are all doing well and you had a day that was full of positive experiences! Here I would like to bring a mineral a little closer and hope you can learn something new.

You can see here a rather rare mineral which is also known under the name Schulenbergite and it was named in 1984 after the place of discovery in Oberschulenberg in Germany. It is a copper and zinc-containing mineral and is usually found in the oxidation zone of copper or zinc-containing deposits and is caused by weathering through hydrothermal solutions and is often found together with other copper minerals such as malachite, gypsum or chalcopyrite. The color is blue and this specimen probably expresses the appearance perfectly and it is known to have a glass-like appearance and usually forms small crystals that are somewhat reminiscent of balls and the most important places of discovery include Germany as well as Greece, Switzerland, Japan or the USA. Due to the rarity, it is not of economic or technical interest and although it has a high content of copper, it is too rare as an ore and especially it is recognized by mineral collectors and for the processing of jewelry it is too brittle.

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about minerals! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!

Its glassy structure is due to its crystalline look. Very pretty looking.

It has a lot of beauty due to the small blue stones inside it.
