Reconnections
I had the opportunity of doing some nature walks in my last vacations not that long ago, but this nature surely hits different.
Maybe it's the amount of childhood memories I have from this place, or even just the scents of the mountain, but the relaxing effect is almost palpable as I walk through these places.
The huge fires from last year still have a strong presence. The landscape is still arid in most places, and the damn eucalyptus are already blooming on their own in some of the areas. Fortunately, nature seems to be healing great.
I will try and give it a little push, and plant native species in the small patch of land we own, now that we have an opportunity to regrow. But this time, it was just a very short visit: checking in on the terrains, rejoicing on contemplating tiny waterfall near the golden hour...
... and allow myself to be surprised. Look what popped up in Merlin app! There were no timefor proper birdwatching this time... but if there's a golden oriole here, I have to come and see it, never seen one here!
To top the nature immersion, the weekend brought even more joy: connecting with friends and family. Some I hadn't seen in weeks, others in years. And in a time were the quality of relations seem to fade away, reconnecting feels so good; being in a family lunch, or during some random village festivity!
And now... time to take my lazy ass off of bed and visit the swimming pool, and meet some friends. Time flies, so we have to make the most of it! 😉
Nice. I love the oriole. For me, it's the Baltimore oriole that always makes my day. The Merlin app recently pointed me to an Indigo bunting recently. It heard the bird, then we saw it.
For me this was a total surprise. I've done countless birdwatching sessions in this area, and have never seen or heard them. But next time I'll come prepared! Thanks for stopping by. !BBH

Nature and family connections - good combo. Delightful looking village and those steaks look good too 😋 I try to encourage native plants too. I recently cut down some cottonwoods our neighbor has some huge old cottonwoods by her house and they rain down fluff on our land. They were planted by homesteads around here because they grow so fast.
