The Greek Culture
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you had a day that brought some interesting experiences into your life! In this post, I would like to talk a little about the culture in ancient Greece and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.
Here you can see some different works of art that are linked to Greek culture and I would like to explain why ancient Greece has a particularly high priority when it comes to the development of European culture. The Greek culture is one of the oldest and defines traditions from ancient Greece to which thousands of islands and areas of today's Italy or Asia belong and the Greek landscape is particularly known for the numerous mountains. The Greek language is also considered one of the oldest in the world and it is assumed that it could have been created 5000 years ago and even when it comes to the worship of different gods, Greek mythology is probably one of the most far-reaching and has shaped the world to this day and even when it comes to alchemy, Greece is considered the leader and is known together with Egypt as the origin of this mystical science. There are many connections between ancient Greece and Egypt and a good example is the well-known figure Hermes Trismegistos who is considered the inventor of hermetics as well as alchemy and he is a mixture of the Greek god Hermes as well as the Egyptian Thot and also the Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra was of Greek origin. In general, ancient Greece is also considered one of the origins of medicine and an important personality is Hippocrates who is also considered the father of medicine and the numerous inventions are an important part of greek culture and it is believed that the theatre also comes from ancient Greece and traditionally there are also thousands of different dances which are also strongly linked to mythology.
Even when it comes to further scientific discoveries, this culture is very high up and also numerous discoveries when it comes to geometry, democracy, mathematics, philosophy, astronomy and many more come from ancient Greece and a lot of understanding of today's topics can be traced back to the Greeks. Greek architecture also has an important meaning and the ancient Greeks were known for having built numerous temples for their gods, some of which are even well preserved and everywhere in ancient Greece you can find buildings that are based on mythology and most of them are probably located in the historic city of Athens, which has been named after the goddess of wisdom Athena. Greek architecture has achieved a high status worldwide and everywhere in other countries you can find buildings that are based in style on ancient Greece and also the greek mythology is popular worldwide and on almost every continent you can find traces of ancient Greece and to this day thousands of people are inspired by it. In general, Greek art is very noteworthy and I have already written a post about it in the past and if you want to learn more about it, you will find my contribution here. Typical for ancient Greece is the color blue, which also has a high significance from a symbolic point of view and is considered a sign of protection and in addition to the invention of the Olympic Games, which are regularly celebrated, there are numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Greece. In each region there are its own traditions and when it comes to the diversity of culture, Greece is at a high level and the preservation of culture is also an important factor and to this day, great importance is attached to the care and promotion of this culture and while in other countries a strong cultural death can be seen, Greece is very neutral in this regard.
Thanks a lot for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about greek culture! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
When two different cultures unite, they form a new culture that has similar traditional values of both.
