Good day dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you had a day full of positive experiences! Today I would like to go into a little closer to a plant and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.

Here are some pictures of Common purslane which is also known under the scientific name Portulaca oleracea and it is a typical vegetable plant that has been known for thousands of years and has already been cultivated in the Babylonian Empire or by the ancient Egyptians. Common purslane has achieved an well-known reputation as a medicinal plant over the years and especially the leaves are rich in important ingredients and even in the Middle Ages it appears in numerous old medical writings, but the exact origin is no longer known and often controversial. In general, the plant can be used in many ways and it is very suitable for making tinctures from it and once planted it spreads by itself so that it is sometimes even considered a pest plant. Mainly the leaves are harvested and it is also interesting that it has a different taste at individual times of the day and in general it has a slightly sour taste and with increasing age it is somewhat reminiscent of nuts and due to the different nuances it is ideal for seasoning different dishes. It is an extremely easy-care and compact plant that can already be harvested from May and when it comes to the location, it has no special requirements and is suitable for the balcony or garden and it propagates over seeds and one plant can produce tens of thousands of seeds and it can be recommended to plant it at an interval of several weeks in order to be able to harvest throughout the year. In itself it is relatively easy to determine, but there are also plants with a certain similarity and as always I would like to mention at the end that in case of illness you should always consult your doctor or pharmacist of trust to avoid possible side effects!
