#510 - A view of Batad rice terraces.

Our nature shots for today will take us to Batad which is a remote village in the Ifugao hinterlands. Good Wednesday evening first my beloved Hiveans. Hope all is well with you and your love ones. Been a busy day for me earlier because as usual I had to wake up early and prepare our breakfast before I started my work activities at eight. Good thing my son is attending his school online so I don't need to accompany him to school. He can commute but the problem during rush hours is the number of jeeps which are fully loaded. So I had no choice but to drive him to school while I am working, I just have to inform my team mates that I will be out for a few minutes.

So for our travel shots we have a scene here when we were already at the view point area after walking or trekking there for about an hour. We stopped by at the dwelling with a roof they installed there at the viewing area and there were flowers too which are frequented by bees. So I took a photo of a large carpenter bee while it visits a white flower with a beautiful background of the village in the middle of amphitheater.

The lovely wife stopped for a while so I can take her photo with the terraces in the background. We can also see the concrete path the locals have made to make it easier for tourists while enjoying the view.

A zoomed view of the villages where the locals settle in the middle of the rice terraces. Other houses they have are on the sides of the mountains surrounding the terraces. We can still see some nipa huts there which serve as their granaries.

If we zoom closely, we can see several people who are here for a day tour. We have seen them when we arrived at the viewpoint, they also got there after a few minutes of walking.

Another view of some of the rice terraces which are already harvested a while back. We have learned that they only plant here once a year because of the weather but I saw some fields which have new crops planted. I hope they can harvest them in these coming months even if the season will be colder by then.
