POULTRY FARM BUSINESS AND ITS MARKETING ASPECT.

One of the things or challenges that draw down the development of poultry farm business is lack of proper marketing strategy when your meat production reaches to he harvested. This is the period that most poultry farmers get stucked just because they didn't make proper marketing arrangements before they reach harvest. Also, most farmers solely focus on the production aspect and ignore the marketing aspect.

One thing about livestock business, most especially the meat production one. There is always buyers out there for these birds, so in other to get to them there should be pre-marketing arrangements before your birds reach to be harvested. There are different marketing ways that can take your farming business to a whole new level which may in turn help to sell your birds faster. Some of them are...

• By supplying the retailers: Supplying the retailers is one of the ways that can make you sell your birds off as quick as you can. You supply them in bulk and they sell to the final users or consumers. This is also a strategy I mostly indulge in, the difference between the price you are selling to the final users or consumers and the retailers selling to the final consumers is just N100($0.21). The retailers help to make your birds sell faster.

• Advertising on major media platforms: Another good marketing strategy is taking your business online. This helps your poultry farm business reach larger coverage. Majorly, I post my birds only WhatsApp and that is enough for me sell of my chicken. With this I don't need to mount every junction before I can be able to get rid of my birds when they reach to harvest.

• I do home delivery: Lastly, another strategy that I do which I have found to be the commonest means to market is to do home delivery. I dress and package my chicken product and bring it to door step of the customers base on order.
