¡Hola amigos!! Entre tantas cosas que han sucedido y no he tenido el tiempo de sentarme y escribirles, una de ellas, es que Palmerita volvió a su hogar!!! Para quienes no leyeron aquel post donde les hablaba de Palmerita, ella llegó a nosotros literalmente horas luego de dar a luz a tres hermosos gatitos, los cuales por supuesto llegaron con ella a nuestra casa, para ser cuidados, hasta que ellos ya no necesitaran su leche materna y así poderlos dar en adopción, se dice fácil, pero waww fue todo un reto!!.

Los gatitos que había cuidado hasta ahora ya eran grandes, y los únicos pequeños que llegue a cuidar los termina adoptando (Loki y Freyja), pero nunca me había tocado unos recién nacidos, así que fue muy retador y también una experiencia muy hermosa, tierna y delicada, aún mas teniendo a dos gatos en casa, pues ella al estar recién parida se comportaba muy agresiva/protectora, por lo que varias veces ataco a mis gatos, por obvias razones, así que era delicado intentar mantenerlos separados, mucha logística a decir verdad.

Al pasar el primer mes, ya entendió que mis gatos no le harían nada, por lo que comenzó a salir más, además queríamos que los gatitos también salieran a los jardines, a tomar sol, tocar tierra y socializar más, eso ayudaría a que se adaptaran rápido en sus futuros hogares, Palmerita, como una digna gata calico o tricolor, era muy inteligente, tanto que es la primera gata que aprende a abrir puertas en mi casa jajaja, sí, a rotar la manilla y abrir puertas, a mover las ventanas, a abrir las ollas, Diosss, era demasiado inteligente y eso nos impresionó mucho. Luego de que ya los gatitos no la necesitaban para comer, pudimos enviarla a que la esterilizaran y por fin regreso al que era su hogar, donde la recibieron con cariño, nosotros nos quedamos con los tres bebes, para darlos en adopción, luego les comento como nos ha ido con ellos, pero al menos ya Palmerita está con sus nuevos dueños.

Hello friends!! Among so many things that have happened, and I haven't had the time to sit down and write to you, one of them is that Palmerita returned home!!! For those who didn't read that post where I told you about Palmerita, she arrived with us literally hours after giving birth to three beautiful kittens, who of course came with her to our house to be cared for until they no longer needed her milk and could be put up for adoption. It sounds easy, but wow, it was quite a challenge!!

The kittens I had cared for up until now were already grown, and the only little ones I ever looked after ended up being adopted (Loki and Freyja), but I had never had newborns before, so it was very challenging and also a very beautiful, tender, and delicate experience, even more so having two cats at home. Since she had just given birth, she was very aggressive/protective, so she attacked my cats several times, for obvious reasons. It was tricky trying to keep them separated; a lot of logistics, to be honest.

After the first month, she understood that my cats wouldn't hurt her, so she started going outside more. We also wanted the kittens to go out into the gardens too, to get some sun, touch the ground, and socialize more. This would help them adapt quickly to their future homes. Palmerita, like a true calico or tricolor cat, was very intelligent—so much so that she's the first cat in my house to learn how to open doors! Yes, she could turn the handle and open doors, move windows, open pots and pans. Wow, she was incredibly smart, and it impressed us so much. Once the kittens no longer needed her for food, we were able to have her spayed, and she finally returned to her home, where she was welcomed with open arms. We kept the three babies to put them up for adoption. I'll tell you how things are going with them later, but at least Palmerita is now with her new owners.
