Market Friday - Having Fun at Mini Town ( Part 2).

Today is #MarketFriday, a project initiated by @dswigle, and this post is my contribution to this project for this week.

Last week I shared Part 1 of Having Fun at Mini Town in Durban.

Today, I'll share more about some buildings, industries, recreational activities, etc. that can be seen in Mini Town.

Retail.

Yes, this is #MarketFriday. So let's go shopping first.

The well-known SPAR retail group has more than one shop in Mini Town and they are located nicely to attract some nice business. One of their shops can be seen in the photo below.

Have you been to the doctor and do you need to collect your medication? The Medi-Quick Pharmacy is just around the corner.

Mini Town Industries.

  • Financial Industry.

In need of some financial advice? No problem... Let's visit SAMMAR Investments.

DSC_4719.jpg

  • Motor Industry

We didn't see any reckless driving during our visit to Mini Town..., but in case of an accident, you should be able to get your vehicle sorted quickly.

We saw two different panel-beating shops during our visit to Mini Town. I think you might call them repair shops...? Please let me know what you call them in your country. It would be interesting to know...

The first was SHAM Panel Beaters. They are located on a main road which is carrying heavy traffic (constantly moving).

The harbor is right behind them and just opposite the road from them is the railway line, passing through the station at the far end of Mini Town.

DSC_4744.jpg

In the industrial area, we found another panel beating shop, E & R Panel Beaters.

DSC_4783.jpg

  • Building Industry.

In the photo above, next to the panel beating shop, you can also see Lucky Boards & Builders Suppliers, catering for the building industry.

A little higher up in the same area, we saw a well-known South African brick manufacturing company, COROBRIK (photo below).

DSC_4778.jpg

  • Food and Beverage Industry.

Coo-ee is a well-known brand for its beverages in South Africa and their factory can also be found in the industrial area of Mini Town.

DSC_4784.jpg

Closer to the harbor, we found Minnies Food Enterprise (photo below) which specializes in the manufacture of Sauces, Condiments and Marinade & Bastings for the Retail and HORECA (Hotels | REstaurants | CAtering) Markets both in South Africa and for Export. This is according to their own website.

DSC_4762.jpg

Just behind Minnies Food Enterprise in the photo above, you can also see a storage facility of RAM, a well-known courier company in South Africa.

  • Sugar Industry.

We cannot be in Durban (not even Mini Town in Durban) without mentioning the sugar industry and visiting the Sugar Mill.

In the next photo, you can see one of the most well-known landmarks in Durban...the Sugar Mill.

Sports and Recreation.

Life cannot be all about work and no play. We often talk about maintaining a healthy balance between work life and personal life...a balance between professional or working activities and recreational activities.

No town/city can be complete without catering for sports facilities and/or recreational facilities.

Mini Town is no exception.

Down in the lower end of Mini Town, we found the local cricket stadium with a competitive match taking place.

DSC_4736.jpg

After the match, we often like to treat the family to a nice family dinner at a nice restaurant or steak house.

Not too far away from the cricket stadium, we found the SPUR.

DSC_4694.jpg

For those who are looking for a relaxing afternoon at the bowls club, we have located the local bowls club for you in Mini Town too...

DSC_4693.jpg

Notice how the guy to the right is leaning over to the left, mentally trying to manipulate the direction of the ball...lol.

If you are looking for fun and entertainment, we found the circus and fun park just outside the harbor.

DSC_4795.jpg

For those of us who prefer the outdoors and things nature-related...we found the Crocodile Creek crocodile farm.

DSC_4754.jpg

The real Crocodile Creek (close to Ballito on the North Coast) and at least two other similar, but closer venues happen to be on our to-do list to visit in the near future.

For the ladies who love to be pampered, there are also the Body Beautiful nail, hair & beauty salon.

DSC_4692.jpg

If you want more luxury, you can also go to SPA DURBAN, complete with the facility to relax next to the swimming pool...

DSC_4699.jpg

Other Buildings

Other buildings we found quite impressive were The Edward Hotel...

DSC_4705-2.jpg

...and this apartment building (couldn't find a name though...)

DSC_4710.jpg

And yes, education is the key to a better future and Mini Town is no exception to this rule either...

In Conclusion.

If you are looking for a venue where you can host an unforgettable birthday party for the little ones...Mini Town has the answer.

They have a neat and covered area where a nice birthday party can be hosted.

And with that our visit to Mini town came to an end.

Part 2 of your visit to this mini town. Very cool. And I see now that is easily was for more posts than just one.
So much to see, and the well known shops and industries. The trucks next to them, very cool.
And at the end space for parties. That’s well thought about.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us 👋🏻😊
Happy Friday and May the weekend start beautifully ☀️

It has been up and down. I am slowly climbing out of the hole though.

It sounds as if you are going through a rough time... Are you okay, @pixelhuntersam?

I am glad to hear that you are at least "climbing out of the hole"...

I don't know what you are dealing with, so it might be easier said than done, but try to remain positive and stay strong!

Thanks @jacoalberts my mental health has been screwing me over a bit. It isn't a battle I am unfamiliar with as I have been in this war for a very long time. Some battles are just a little more difficult than others to get through. And it's especially difficult right now as my brain will take the smallest, stupidest, little thing and blow it out of proportion telling me it is the end of the damn world and I am a useless piece of trash.

I am so sorry to hear about this, @pixelhuntersam! Please, there is no expectation or pressure from my side...this is only a suggestion/invitation... My daughter is involved in this field on a full-time basis, having access to online support groups. I recently did a post when they took part in a walk to raise awareness for mental health

Would you like to get in touch with her? I will not be offended if you would rather not make contact...but if you feel you could benefit by getting some support, I am more than willing to help you in making contact with her.
