7 hours & counting...

Just when I thought that I now have a well balanced routine figured out for myself, a streak of ludicrous power outages decides to intervene and totally thrash my little trusty routine.

In the last 12 hours we faced a 6 hour long power outage and after enjoying an hour more of electricity, they decide to shut it down again. That's 7 hours, and counting, because the night is still young.

Also, my Spidey senses tells me that we'll face at least two more hours worth of load-shedding, one before bed time and another during. F*CKING FANTASTIC!

I get it, there's this whole world crisis, recessions, wars, a ton of debt, the dollar being snubbed.

Yet, most of these problems are in the west, the big ole countries spread wide and open on the world map. Why and how does it affect me? While I'm all the way down here in a little country just above the Bay of Bengal, sharing the borders with India. And no, I'm not from India, nor is Bangladesh a part of India.

Alas, whether it be the west, or the South East Asian region, it's all correlated. It's a big business you know, theses countries and their ruling governments. So, if one goes down or if a "business deal" doesn't go as planned, then a few others are affected too, and since the big daddy, the US of A is taking a big hit, we must take a hit too.

It's just the recoil at this point. While they're the ones shooting the shots, we too must take a few decent hits of recoil, a pushback.

However, this time it's less about the west and more about our government's incompetence. No one other than our government and their scummy ways of handling things takes the blame here.

No matter how much they try to put most of the blame on the other countries and the current global economy, or even the Ukraine war(which is a common excuse), it is undoubtedly our government's fault; miscalculation, countless projects lined up, debt and loans not being paid. It was all just a matter of time.

We were so caught up with the idea of উন্নয়ন(Development), that instead we ended up with নিজের পায়ে নিজে কুড়াল মারা। We dug our on graves.

Just after finishing up with the decade long Padma Bridge project, a humungous project it was; within a year we took on countless flyover projects in every part of the city. Another chance for the ruling party to put some more moolah in their pockets. There's also the half-assed metro-rail project, along with that colossal airport that's being built; non of it is more necessary than a stable source of electricity and water. So, they could've just taken it slow.

We got so busy with modernization, we forgot about the supply of basic needs and necessities.

Now the cost of living has gone up significantly. Electricity bills have doubled(even though there's countless power outages daily lol) the price tags on food items have doubled, even public transportation costs have increased by 20% or so. Some areas in the main city still face 12 hours of power outages daily, many areas still don't have proper gas or water supply, and the list goes on.

On top of that, in the last 2 decades we've managed to cut down 70% of greenery in our capital city alone. Which explains these high temperatures. The last time our country faced a similar situation was about 15 years ago, and we thought we were making progress. Huh!

It's all unnecessary hype. Everyone was so hyped about the country's digitalization and advancement, that now we're back to square one.

Sure, we now have a modern concrete jungle, with big roads and pretty buildings, but sadly, right now this little jungle doesn't even have a proper supply of electricity or water.

Good job, you greedy incompetent F*CKS!

Nothing to say, no one to hear nor to care.
All the big fishes are making their safehouse somewhere else by making holes every today or tomorrow. projects equal to scope to exploit, simple as that. No one knows how worse things can be in the coming days.

No one knows how worse things can be in the coming days.

If it gets worse then we're doomed, today was a bit too extreme, and only I and my family know how suffocating it was. The lack of electricity wasn't the real problem, nor our digital presence or access, that was all tolerable. But the combination of dangerously high temperatures and absolutely no cooling indoors left us all sweltering. Such a horrid experience!

Today we got rain for almost two hours, the weather is decent now, what about your place?

Cloudy and a little bit of rain, but it's fairly cool and windy, which is quite nice. No load-shedding either, not even once today. Who knows what's up.

Don't be so happy, be cautious.

Yet, this calls for a big fat hi5 for now. 🤝

Coming from a developing country Nigeria, i can identify with most of the infrastructural problems you mentioned here. As for unsteady electricity, we do not bother again. Most times, my city gives less than 5 hours of light per day. Most of us have petrol generators for electricity. Its so sad that things have gone so bad because of mishandling of projects around the country.

I guess it's the same scenario for developing countries all around the world. This worldwide crisis, recessions, it's all just adding fuel to the fire now.

There's also our governments and their actions, their incompetence and mismanagement which is always at work. They fix one thing and mess up three more. Sigh!

You got it all right. The governments have a lot to fix. They are not always fast in getting stuffs done, resulting in mass suffering.

Prolonged Power outages can be very fraustrating. Power supply and water supply go hand in hand. What is a city with no water? A mess I guess.

I totally get what you're talking about as I've been in such situations a couple of times. I hope they eventually brought the light.

For some reason after publishing this post of mine everything is working fine again. No load-shedding, a proper supply of water, and the weather is cool too.

I should rant some more from now on, hoping that it fixes every problem in my life. 😂

That could be true yunno😂. Maybe the gods of electricity heard your rant and did something about it.

It's good to hear that everything is back to normal.

Maybe they follow me on PeakD with a smurf account, who knows. 🤔

It's good to hear that everything is back to normal.

Yup, right now everything just feels perfect, but I just don't know how long all of it will last.

On second thought, you may be right🌜😂

Sadly this is just intentional manipulation of the citizens of the world. This is what happens when the evil psycophants in the world economic (fuckery)forum have in mind and much worse. We need to fight back against the bullshit and insanity that is the product of their stupidity and intentional destruction of civility. It’s Marxism on steroids.

Sometimes I really don't know what to believe. Shit was awful just a few days ago, and now for the past 3 to 4 days everything is back to normal again. These fuckers really know how to mess with your mind, fiddling around all the time. They keep you guessing, as every single one of them is trying to cook up something gruesome, while maintaining their act trying to look like the "good guys".
