At the top of the pass
Hi!
When we climbed to the top of the Uchitel Pass, at first we just rested for a while. Then they began to photograph everything that could be seen around. Of course, the most interesting thing turned out to be the opposite slope of the gorge, where at the very bottom, in the food of a thin thread, you could see the Arctra River. But it was impossible to distinguish our tents using binoculars (and one of my friends dragged a heavy pair of binoculars to the pass with him, but it was not particularly useful there, since he did not have to look at any small details, and he completely minimized the entire width of the panorama).
The site at the top of the pass turned out to be unattractive. There are no noteworthy objects. Several huge boulders and a stream of meltwater flowing out from under the ice, which lies on the pass and does not melt even under the scorching rays of the summer sun.
By the way, it wasn't hot for us there either, although we wore short-sleeved T-shirts downstairs. Here, everyone was wearing hats and some even warmed their gloved hands.
I didn't feel like eating at all, but everyone wanted to drink hot tea. And we did not regret that we took heavy thermoses with us. Here, on a constant wind, at an air temperature no higher than 15 degrees, near a huge field of ice, it was simply necessary to warm up with hot tea. And when you drink half a mug, then your appetite wakes up. And sandwiches have already been used.
Then they all went to the right cliff. There, the majestic and boundless Kurai steppe opened up before us. Very bright colors were complemented by low-hanging dense clouds. Sometimes the sun peeked out and everything changed before our eyes. It was also interesting to watch the dark spots moving across the steppe. They were the shadows of clouds.
I also liked the sand-colored wall that towered right in front of us. Crumbling tracks of rock were visible. We really wanted to get close to them and touch them, but we understood that it would be impossible to do this, because there was a narrow but very dangerous cleft in our path.
Soon our instructors gathered everyone together and told us to prepare for the return descent. They warned that the road down is always more difficult than the road up. And that's why we need to be doubly careful and take our time. We rested, tried to remember everything we saw here and set off on our way back.
There can only be mountains better than mountains that you have not visited yet!

The clouds look threatening.
It only seems so. It never rained from them.
