Sony RX10 III Camera Pictures - My First Silver Shots
New camera
I wrote about this new camera yesterday and today it arrived so of course I'm keen to try it out for some silver photography as well. Although I don't think I've been doing that bad capturing silver with my phone so far, there's definitely room for improvement and it's one of the first things that I'm going to try today.
I definitely have tons of other ideas to capture and try out but as the wind is really bad today, I'm leaning towards capturing objects inside instead. Hopefully tomorrow I can test the zoom function to capture the two playful kittens in our community garden without scaring them while coming close enough as I need to do with my phone. But first I need to either buy a shoulder cord (as it wasn't included in the box) or find another way to carry it safely, otherwise this camera won't leave inside anytime soon, haha.
Silver!
So while staying inside what's nice to try and capture first? Right! Cats, of course, lol. But that's not what this blog is about. Second best option was grabbing the box with silver rounds and see if I can upgrade my silver pictures a bit without having much knowledge about all the functions on the camera. I started to read the manual, of course, but I'm way to impatient to not first shoot some pictures and try out shooting things without paying much attention to the settings. Let's take out some silver and see how these quick shots turned out today.
Dragon and Koi - this one is way better than the original picture I shared ones, and I have to tell you that that best shot back then took me much longer with the phone (of course) while this was a matter of seconds.
Here's the beautiful Phoenix from the same collection, this one clearly isn't as great as the previous one, but that's ok. Can't win them all right away, can I?
Royal Spanish silver
Recently I shared two coins that I bought from the Spanish royal mint and I was curious to find out if these colourized silver coins were going to come out as good as I hoped with this new camera.
Not great but not bad either I think. It's quite annoying that they are stuck in the plastic from the mint but I'm not willing to take them out of it as I'm afraid they will lose their value.
Looking at these pictures again I think they are definitely clearer (especially the face side) than with my phone. The colours are quite vibrant too while having a better look.
Smaller coins
This was a first trial without knowing much how to handle the camera yet, but I hope to be able to capture some smaller silver in the next days to see how these turn out. I had a really hard time capturing the silver dimes I recently purchased and have a few more waiting for me to be picked up currently as well. I bet the new pictures will be a lot better and more detailed.
Although I have plenty of things to try out before the final verdict, I can't imagine that I'm willing to send this camera back. There really has to be some flaw with it will I consider that, haha. Tomorrow I will be back to share some other photography with my new camera..
Coin photography on a budget
While doing some quick browsing about coin photography, I bumped into this article:
Coin photography on a budget from Artemis-Collection.com
Maybe it comes in handy for those without an expensive camera to capture the coins. I thought I'd share it anyway..
All pictures above are taken by yours truly with the Sony RX10 III camera. I'm still an amateur so you will probably find shitty and good shots from me while learning.. :)

I've been eyeing a few digital cameras from a local thrift shop, they're missing the original manuals of course but dirt cheap. I learned coin photography by trial and error but they seem to fall in line in some of the principles in the article you linked. I've even used my Roommate's Iphone for certain low light shots (In my upcoming post).
I'm curious to see your results with this RX10 model.
And thanks for the link @thisismylife

Oh I hope that you can grab one for a dirt cheap price sis! This one wasn't dirt cheap but in the end, I think I will be very very happy with it. I already am while I still suck at handling it :)
I think the link is actually quite useful to take some pics with some less budget if you're normally facing hard lightning conditions. I know all too well btw, inside without much light in winter, I had a hard time capturing anything with the phone.
I'm mainly curious to see how goldbacks and the oznote turn out with my new camera.. hopefully I can try soon :)

That's not so bad at all. Lots of details in the photos already. I guess this will only get better once you get the hang of it.
Yeah I plan on practicing every day, with different things. Tomorrow I get a coin which is toned with some rainbow colouring.. I'm very curious to see how that turns out.
