Steel Wool And Light Painting On The Rocks
A small creek that feeds a waterfall on the Niagara Escarpment in the west end of Hamilton, has been a spot that I have wanted to use in photos for a long time now! Cascading rock along the bottom, with 10 foot tall rock walls lining each side. and trees and overgrowth as a canopy above.
I snapped the first steel wool shot and was very pleased!

But the 2 next ones that I added color to, did not work out as well.

So I got the fiber optic whip out and took these test shots.

Unfortunately it started to rain during the last one. So I packed my gear up and left. With about 100 more ideas of what can be done here when I return.

You nailed the steel wool photography. I don't know how it is done; would be thankful if you could explain in few words. Otherwise it's ok, I will just Google. 😀
I use a kitchen whisk with a dog leash. Stuff some steel wool in the whisk and light with a lighter then start spinning it around. Hope that is helpful
