The Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven was built, financed and donated to the Unitarians in 1904 by Henry H. Rogers in memory of his mother, Mary Eldredge Huttleston. The church was designed by Boston architect Charles Brigham in a Gothic Revival style.[4] It is one thousand and fourteen feet (309 m) in height, one hundred feet (30 m) long in body and fifty-three feet (16 m) wide. The nave is thirty-two feet (9.8 m) wide and seventy-one feet (22 m) long. The main aisle is sixty-two feet (19 m) long and six feet (1.8 m) wide. The church, parish house and former parsonage (now Harrop Center) of the Unitarian Society are so placed as to form three sides of a quadrangle, set among well-kept lawns and shrubbery. Granite (locally quarried) with Indiana limestone decorative carvings dominate the exterior while marble and limestone carvings dominate the interior. All stonework artistry was created by forty-five Italian craftsmen brought to Fairhaven by Rogers.

I have been in it once and it is equally grand inside I was there for a service and hence did not take any photos, I always feel funny about taking photos in a church, not sure why, nut maybe one day I will be there when it is open and no people are around and be able to get some shots inside
lOok at the cool details on these gates

isnt it so grand, perhaps not as grans as some of the cathedrals around the world, but for a small town I feel it is impressive

You're welcome, Mr. Have a nice day too.
Good morning, dear friend @tattoodjay
I'm a fan of period architecture. I love seeing buildings like this.
Beautiful photographs.
Have a beautiful day, dear friend.
I to love old buildings like this
Wow, that was very generous of the guy to build it and donate it to them. We have a Universal Unitarian church in the town where I grew up, but it is much more modern than this one!
yeah that guy donated a few things to the town including the library buildign I shared before
Wow!
Very impressive church. Everything depends on perspective. Around here so many of the churches are wood framed. Its an iconic New England look but nothing grand like this one. So while there are some churches that are much larger and impressive, there are many that are simple and plain.
Really beautiful!!!
I'm so glad you went for a walk and had the chance to photograph the shapes of these beautiful buildings.
Have a beautiful day, Mr. @tattoodjay

What a gorgeous building! I love old churches, the architecture just draws me in. I remember my first time at Notre Dame before the fire, what an amazing place! Great shots, they put a lot of work into building such a nice building. It obviously had deep meaning to them to produce such a beautiful place!
I to love old buildings, Notre Dam was so amazing to see
