Sublime and Beautiful Sunday A few boats on seen walking on Popes Island

A few boats on seen walking on Popes Island

This post is for #SublimeSunday, inspired by @c0ff33a, and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.

Good morning, and I hope your weekend is going well.

Today I will share a few photos from a recent early morning walk I took on Pope's Island here in New Bedford, MA.

Starting with a Few Commercial Fishing boats, mainly the Timberline 1 and Osprey, I kind of thought the two ship names go well together, as I imagine an Osprey building its nest near a Timberline, ie the edge of a forest, and close to the water to catch fish.

Yeah I know my mind heads off to strange places at times LOL

Speaking of a strange mind I have, this is often the first spot I head to when I go and visit Pope's Island, and there is an area where I could park my car close to this spot, but no, whenever I visit there, I park near the Pope's Island Marina, and walk a few minutes to this spot to start taking photos.
Do I have a reason I do that? No, I am just a creature of habit, I guess, and that's where I always park :)

At this same spot, just along from the boats in the first photo, is this view of a mix of private and commercial boats, but until recently, it had never really caught my eye.

These are more commercial fishing boats, on the other side of the pier, where the boats in the first photo are docked.

The motion of the water seemed ot affect the ship Thor more, as its name is a little blurry

This is midway on the old Swing truss bridge; that platform in the foreground is what the swing bridge roates over.

This is looking out at Fleet Marina.
It is located at 226 Popes Island in New Bedford, MA. It features some of the largest floating docks in the area, catering to both commercial and recreational vessels
