Monochrome Monday shots from recent walks
Monochrome Monday shots from recent walks
Good morning, I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was good got out for a couple of photowalks, and did some errands around the house, but otherwise was a nice easy weekend
I am starting the week as is my habit with a few Monochrome shots all from recent walks I have taken
Starting with a morning when I parked at the port took a few shots there and then walked into the historic district, and when I go there I cannot resisty gettign shots of the Belgian block streets, I still think of them as cobblestone streets, but know thats not what they are, either way whatever there called, they can be treacherous to walk on if wet, or must be a nightmare for ladies wearing shoes with thin heels.
in short the difference between them is cobblestones are naturally rounded river or field stones, while Belgian blocks are quarried, cut rectangular stones

And you may think this photo is from the same morning at the port, but it was another day and I was walking around Popes Island and this is one of the docks for commercial fishing boats, its mostly Monochrome, but brought back a touch of the color inthe boat Timberline but very muted

And this next one is taken from up on the Harbor walk here in New Bedford a lovely walkway built on top of the hurricane barrier wall
I do love catching reflections, and this building and the small waterway is always good for reflections

And this is from the walk I took at Haskell Gardens with the local photography/Artists group, knowing these greenhouses are being taken down as they have deteriorated so much and apparently are beyond repair, I thought to get some shots of them before they are torn down,

That black and white edit of the greenhouse works really well. I think I like the old street the most. I spent the weekend watching some big boats go by. I talked about it a bit in my post today.
Morning, and that sounds cool off to check out your post now :)
Great

How are you, my dear friend @tattoodjay?
What beautiful shots you've taken; I love the reflections. The second and last photos are my favorites.
Have a happy and prosperous week.

Great, as always, and I still have to ask if there is a secret to how, with 4 photos and not much description, you can get so many views. I assume that a good part of that, along with the excellent photos of course, is the large number of years you have been here

Yes I think the amount of time I have been on here is the biggest factor in that regard
The view is so beautiful, especially in black and white, it looks so amazing. My favorite photo is the second photo of the ships moored around the harbor, which looks so cool.

The first photograph looks really beautiful. Reminiscent of the cobblestones of Arnabut, it has a nostalgic feel. It's like the streets where old TV series were filmed. In the second picture, the reflections of the fishing boats on the sea and the harmony with the clouds are very beautiful. In the third picture, these reflections are even more pronounced. The clouds are more visible above the building.
