Some snapshots of everyday observation / Algunas instantáneas del mirar cotidiano

When I'm out and about, I'm always on the lookout for interesting things to photograph, and almost every day I come across scenes I just can't pass up. That's why, every so often, I post something like this, with snapshots of everyday life that I've been collecting here and there.

En la calle, siempre estoy atenta por si veo alguna cosa interesante para fotografiar, y casi a diario me consigo con escenas que no puedo dejar pasar. Por eso, cada cierto tiempo hago una publicación como esta, con instantáneas de la vida cotidiana que he ido recopilando por ahí.

I took these photos with my cell phone. Although the image quality isn't the best, I think these devices are being used more and more in street photography because of the convenience and discretion they offer.

Estas tomas las he hecho con mi teléfono celular. Aunque la calidad de la imagen no sea la mejor, creo que cada vez más en la fotografía callejera se usan estos dispositivos por la comodidad y discreción que ofrecen.

As you can see, these photos aren't related to one another, but when you put them together, they might capture a place, or our perspective on it. I suppose that's what street photography is all about.

Como pueden observar, estas fotos no tienen relación una con otra, pero al ponerlas juntas, es posible que retraten un lugar o nuestra mirada sobre él. Supongo que de eso se trata la fotografía callejera.

Capturing animals, people, architecture, nature, and more in a way that conveys a sense of something. And if we happen to come across something out of the ordinary, so much the better.

Captar animales, gente, arquitectura, naturaleza, etc., de forma que transmitan algo. Y si a veces nos encontramos con algo fuera de lo común, mucho mejor.

The street is an endless showcase of images, and we have to decide what we're going to take away. Sometimes what strikes us is a situation, and other times it's simply the color or the light emanating from a place. Isn't that interesting?

La calle es una vitrina infinita de imágenes, y hay que decidir qué nos vamos a llevar. A veces eso que nos impacta es una situación, y otras veces es simplemente el color o la luz que emana de un lugar. ¿Qué interesante no?
