80 Stunning Frames From One Tour With @lukasbachofner! This Are The Results! Architektur, Double Exposure!

(Edited)

The Story:

@lukasbachofner and I met becouse he used to be my naber. One day we crossed paths in the garage and imediatly got along as we share a lot of interests. Namlely gardening, cooking and yes you guessed it, photography!

Architektur Photography

This is a niche where @lukasbachofner and I resonate with. Check out his portfolio and you will understand. He has a great style and choise of Perspective.

  • We acctualy never managed to go on a Phototour together, till now!

First Tour Together In Zürich Switzerland!

In this Post you can see all shots I keep from this tour. All Images are straight out of cam, so there are no post processes used. With Lightroom I usualy do a edit with contrasts and so on but for this post none of that is done. It should be a display of original photography and skills. I think Editing youre images is also a great skill, but one needs to master shooting sooc (straight out of camera) first in my view (pun intended) to further expand it with editing technics.

  • I come from a long exposure, light painting background, so my begings in photography where in the dark shooting citys and all kind of locations where it is dark and has some nice features like lost places, bunkers and forests etc.

Lets start with my favorite image from this Photowalk!

  • It is a Double Exposure and I think it is framed just perfect.

Where we started..

Ther tour was planed to take place around Zürich main station and this is where we started.
Locals may reccognice the Post which is the legendary "Shil Post"
This first frame is a single exposure. The 50mm has epic light and tzhis frame is shot with f1.8! (for those who speak photostats haha)

20230422-_X8A3049.jpg

Rare Image of @lukasbachofner!

Single exposure with crazy focus mash thanks to a wide apparture, yes still f1.8 haha

20230422-_X8A3046.jpg

Don`t look up!?!

Or better don`t look down?
This frame is fliped 180°, notice the refflections?

20230422-_X8A3051.jpg

Double Exposure And Single Exposure!?!

  • The following photos are taken in the same location with a few diffrend setings.
  • The sceene was verry inspiring and the refflections realy poped thanks to the light conditions we had on this day.
  • I especialy enjoyed it to play arround with perspectives here.

I invite you to dive into this images and let youre thoughts travel.

Hidden Photographer!?!

20230422-_X8A3078.jpg

  • Some behind the frames frames haha

20230422-_X8A3080.jpg

  • Proof that I can overexpose as well haha I still like the shot for the action but it should have been much darker haha

20230422-_X8A3071.jpg

The spot on the road to the spot.

  • The following frames where created on the way from the first location to the next spot we wanted to check out.
  • I do not often shoot overhand but love how they turned out.

20230422-_X8A3084.jpg

20230422-_X8A3083.jpg

20230422-_X8A3082.jpg

New Bridge still has the factory smell!?!

  • not realy but this is the first time I had made it to the bridge for some photo-action!
  • The contrast with the harsch architecture fascinates me.
  • Also having this random people in the frames gives the images a sence of a captured moment in my eyes, something I allways try to involve in my photography.
  • Some Images are shot from the bridge, you reccognice the fence that is there to provide pedestrions from falling on the train tracks.

20230422-_X8A3092.jpg

Practicing the minimalistic frame!?!

  • This is a good example of a 50mm street shot.
  • It may look simple but it took me years to develop a eye for that and years to master my camera as all the images I shoot are in with my custom settings.

20230422-_X8A3091.jpg

Frame from the Bridge.

  • Geometrical diverse I would describe this shot haha
  • How do you like the perspective?

20230422-_X8A3112.jpg

The frames I shot in this location!?!

  • The following images are all shot on that spot, some from the ground up, some from the bridge itselfe.
  • I think one can see that I like to create sureal sceenes when ever possible.

20230422-_X8A3087.jpg

20230422-_X8A3111.jpg

20230422-_X8A3114.jpg

20230422-_X8A3097.jpg

20230422-_X8A3099.jpg

This is how the vides where that day!

  • In the following image you can see how the atmospere was that day.
  • Worm weather but not sunny at all with a bit of wind that got stronger by the houer.
  • Streets are alive in the city as there are a lot of places to be.

20230422-_X8A3101.jpg

Practicing more Perspective for the minimalistic look!?!

  • Somehow that day the buildings catched me in some form.
  • Quiet happy with this phooto, I like how the focus is giving the image depth.

20230422-_X8A3104.jpg

Single or double?

  • It is easy to overlook that the following frame is acctualy a double exposure!
  • Would you have noticed?

20230422-_X8A3100.jpg

Impossible Perspective!?!

  • This is one of my favorite styles I developed during my photography jurney.
  • The goal is to have Impossible streetsceenes in sureal realistic sceeneries.
  • Combining people with the surrounding to get thr overall result is fascinating.
  • What makes this style so strong in my eyes is becouse there is so much to suggest in the images that the viewer gets a personal connection to the images pretty quick.

  • I would love to mention again, all this shots are original and straight out of the camere. So no Photoshop or any post processing exapt inserting the logo with lightroon.

20230422-_X8A3108.jpg

20230422-_X8A3109.jpg

20230422-_X8A3105.jpg

20230422-_X8A3110.jpg

20230422-_X8A3107.jpg

20230422-_X8A3106.jpg

Hidden Double Exposure!?!

  • The following Image is a Double Exposure and I like the fact that you don`t see that straight away.
  • Having a effekt that reminds of a refflection in water.
  • Also I like how the framing is in this photography.

20230422-_X8A3189.jpg

In the Middle of the City!?!

  • We where on the way to the third location and steped into a garden that was right in the middle of this huge blockbuilding.
  • This shot catches me again for the perspective and the room for interpretation in the image.

20230422-_X8A3184.jpg

Setting the sceene...

  • Realy grey day, and the wind is picking up now.
  • A bit of rain but nothing to stop us.
  • This is quiet a modern part of zürich, we are now near Hardbrücke Zürich.
  • There are some skyscrapers, famously the Prime Tower.

  • In this frame you can see one of the smaller skyscrapers from the area.

20230422-_X8A3199.jpg

Behind the sceene.

  • One more atempt of shooting a minimalistic shooter.
  • Capturing moments of moment capturer.
  • A classic photographer pose, good and stable stand, both hands on camera, arm positioned to support the camera for optimal stabilisation, and completly emerged in the viewer.

20230422-_X8A3198.jpg

Floating flat!?!

Double exposure with the building from above.

20230422-_X8A3195.jpg

Sureal Abstract Perspectives.

  • Final Location is a failry new bridge as well.
  • It leads over the main street from this area, coming from the highway onto the city.

  • The Bridge had a cool handrail with a gab!

  • The reflection realy helps to blend the perspectives into one.

20230422-_X8A3202.jpg

  • This serie appeals to me a lot.
  • It would be epic to shoot this frames with clouds in the background.
  • Ethen dough I think having a grey sky is verry benefactoring the looks and feels of this Photos.

20230422-_X8A3201.jpg

  • That was a lot of fun, as it took just minor adjustments to correct the angle for a diffrend perspective.

20230422-_X8A3209.jpg

How fast are you!?!

  • At this point I want to explain my work process a bit.
  • For framing I have a overlay on screen, through the viewer of my camera.
  • The Double exposures are with diffrend appartures and capture times.
  • For one image I have to shoot one picture, frame the second one into that and adjust the setings in the step between to achive the resulty targeted.
  • It takes a lot of practical knoe how and it helps that I customised my camera so that I can quickly acsess all my needed options.
  • Today I did nothing crazy with the white ballance.
  • When I do go crazy with the white ballance it makes me much slower as the setings and adjustments are more comples in between exposures.
  • So my output is what you see today.
  • We spent 4 houers in the city.

  • And this are all the results I take home from today.
  • I love that everytime when out and about photoshooting I learn something new and have something new to try out next time.
  • It is a steady process.

The final Bridge, Finaly!

  • You know the drill, enoy the show!

20230422-_X8A3206.jpg

20230422-_X8A3216.jpg

20230422-_X8A3215.jpg

20230422-_X8A3208.jpg

20230422-_X8A3213.jpg

20230422-_X8A3210.jpg

20230422-_X8A3207.jpg

20230422-_X8A3214.jpg

The "shot of the day" was also here at this bridge!

  • Can you figure the two exposures apart?

20230422-_X8A3204.jpg

Looking Back!?!

  • On top of the bridge I spoted a frame that has the "Skyskraper" from before in and went for it.
  • The grey sky oce more made the images what they are on that day.
  • Notice the process how I get more and more collor in the images.
  • This is a good example of what I call "spot aclimation" , a progress where the photographer needs to adjust to the location and conditions by reflectind, adjusting and repeating.

  • enjoy the "Progress" of "Spot Aclimation"!

Hello from Cuba. Man you have mastered these skills to very high levels. I am not a professional in this field but I know how to recognize great work when it comes up. I really liked to know that the photos are not digitally processed, so they are in their original setting. I'd like to see this experience extrapolated to the Cuban scene. Best regards from the Island.

Yeah! Thank you so much! How nice to hear from you, I am a supporter of the cuba community. I was traveling for a month in cuba, but did not take my camera with me. Havana is realy inviting for this style of photography.
Thank you for checking in and all the best!

Thanks for your kind feedback on my comment, and yes I know for sure about your strong support to our community here. I in particular feel myself indebted to you because of your support to my very first political posts, that somehow were being unnoticed. Time and things have changed but I know you we're part of that change. Best regards again and thanks for the 🍻!

Fantastic tour of Zurich and the strange angles and reflections make it feel like I am riding along with Hunter S Thompson! ;)

I really do love photography on Hive as the real photographers shine while the hacks like me can still play along. Then a collaboration and direct connection with a community member makes it that much better.

I will also have to go check out @lukasbachofner as I haven't until now.

Thanks for sharing and inviting us all on your 4-hour tour!
