Basileuterus tristriatus

Hello hive community. A few days ago I was lucky enough to come across this tiny Basileuterus tristriatus. As you can see in the photograph, this tiny inhabitant of our cloud forests is a marvel of nature. Its plumage, although drenched here from a refreshing swim, displays a beautiful combination of olive-green and yellowish tones. However, the most distinctive feature of this species, and the one that gives it its common name (Three-striped Warbler), are the three striking dark stripes that adorn its head. Although not clearly visible in this preening moment, these markings are key to its identification.

This bird is a fascinating bird, perfectly adapted to humid mountain habitats between 1,000 and 3,000 meters above sea level. In Colonia Tovar, it feels at home in these cloud forests, where it actively feeds on insects and small invertebrates, which it forages both on the ground and in low vegetation. They are generally quite terrestrial birds, moving nimbly among the leaf litter.

Hello, you took wonderful photos of a beautiful bird. Unfortunately, no matter how much I try to photograph birds, the photos turn out to be, to put it mildly, not very good)

Hello! thank you very much!!! Well... I usually spend several hours trying to take pictures of them, and there are almost always more than 100 :) Most of my photos are very blurry or shaky. You just have to be patient. Thanks for commenting and supporting my photos. 😁
