Finished My Photography Studies! Final Exam Portrait Session ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“ธ

I officially finished my photography studies โ€“ and I'm so happy to share this small milestone! โœจ For our final exam, we had to do a simple portrait session: each of us was given 30 minutes to photograph a fellow student outdoors using only natural light. The task also required using either a reflector or a diffuser, just to show we understand how to work with light. Overall, it wasnโ€™t a difficult exam โ€“ more of a formality โ€“ but still, a nice final challenge to close off the course.

I photographed my classmate in a very simple location, we were instructed to make photos just outside near and around the school building. I had already tried shooting near some of the school walls before and really liked how they looked in photos โ€“ they had nice textures and neutral colors that worked well for portraits. So I used that space again and focused on getting different shots: wide, medium, close-up.

There wasnโ€™t much time, so I know I could have done better in some parts โ€“ but for a short 30-minute session, I think it went okay. While walking around, I also noticed a random broken glass detail and quickly took a photo of that too โ€“ just as an extra artistic element. Sometimes these unexpected little textures add something unique.

After the shoot, we had to edit the photos, create a simple collage, and print it out for presentation. Iโ€™m sharing the collage and shots below - we only had to make 5 photos per portrait. It feels so nice to see it all come together, especially knowing itโ€™s the very last assignment of this journey.

Also, Iโ€™m including a few portraits of me โ€“ taken by the same classmate I photographed. We worked in pairs, so each of us got to be both the photographer and the model. Sheโ€™s a really artistic person, and I love how soft and expressive her photos of me turned out.

So thatโ€™s it โ€“ Iโ€™m officially done with my photography studies! ๐ŸŽ“ Now itโ€™s time to celebrate! ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ“ท๐Ÿ’›

Congratulations! What are your goals now that you've finished your studies? Are there any passion projects you plan to pursue?

Thank you! Honestly, my goal now is to enjoy summer for a while and rest! ๐Ÿ˜ But regarding photography, I think I still need to reflect a lot what I want to do with it. There are always a ton of thoughts and ideas in my head but I find it hard to start implementing some of them instead of just planning and day dreaming. I do have a couple of bigger specific projects I want to create but for now - rest and some client work! ๐Ÿ˜

Enjoy the rest, and the client work - don't ever let that creative spark die! It was the most miserable time of my life, finishing art school, getting a corpo job, then realising, nine years later, that the "demon of creativity" had to be set free again.

Now, they walk beside me, instead of being trapped within.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Congratulations on the successful completion of your studies. You both look truly striking. Though every click from the session is remarkable, the image featuring the shattered glass is the exceptional standout ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. Good luck for the future ๐Ÿ•Š๐Ÿซ€

Congratulations, my friend, on successfully completing your studies. Your photographs are beautiful, each with its own unique charm. Of all the photos, this one struck me the most. The others are also amazing.
