Dragonflies over and over 😊

I bring back so many dragonfly photos from my nature walks that it might seem almost annoying. But hey - it's dragonfly season right now, so I'm taking full advantage. There's no way I'd be able to capture shots like these during winter! 😊

With my macro lens attachment, I managed to capture some incredible fine details and the delicate wing patterns.

I even managed to photograph a dragonfly during takeoff. Though I'll admit, this shot was more a matter of pure luck than any serious photographic skill.

But I got into it, so I removed the macro lens and started chasing dragonflies mid-flight. Let's be real - this was more of an athletic performance than serious photography. Dragonflies were buzzing all around me, and I was trying to capture them in my viewfinder. If someone had been watching, they might've thought I was doing some kind of weird nature ballet.

Dragonflies often hover in mid-air like tiny helicopters, which might make someone think it's not that difficult to photograph them. But I dare you to try it yourself.

On my last shot, I captured a dragonfly laying eggs - and it's a fascinating process. The dragonfly "bounces" over the water's surface at regular intervals, touching its abdomen to the water each time and releasing a batch of eggs. So it looks like dragonflies aren't going extinct anytime soon, which means I'll have plenty to photograph next season too.
