Domestic animals

Photographing wildlife can be a challenge. With domestic animals, it's easier in that they are used to humans and won't run away from you.

But that doesn't mean that pets don't command respect - especially large ones.

If there's a dangerous situation, you'll outsmart a chicken or a rabbit. I'm not sure about cattle.

Fortunately, there was no corrida or rodeo, and no one was injured during the shoot. Neither the cows nor the photographer.

Fotografování divoké zvěře může být výzva. U domestikovaných zvířat je to jednodušší v tom, že jsou na lidi zvyklé a neutečou před vámi.

To ale neznamená, že by domácí zvířata nevzbuzovala respekt - zvlášť ta velká.

Kdyby došlo na nějakou nebezpečnou situaci, tak slepici nebo králíka přepereš. U skotu si tomu nejsem jistý.

Naštěstí se corrida ani rodeo nekonaly, a během focení nebyl nikdo zraněn. Ani krávy, ani fotograf.

The ancient Greek goddess Hera, sister and wife of Zeus himself, was by nature the highest goddess in the entire pantheon. And Homer calls her boópis, "with cow's eyes". And he means it as a compliment.

I hope there weren't so many flies on Hera...

Starořecká bohyně Héra, sestra a manželka samotného Dia byla už z povahy věci ta nejvyšší bohyně v celém pantheónu. A Homér ji nazývá boópis, "volooká", neboli "s očima krávy". A myslí to jako kompliment.

Snad ale na Héru nesedalo tolik much...
